Finnick

Fliss came back "She's not asleep, she's just sort of led there with a toy in her mouth but she didn't seem bothered?"

"I'll go get her?" Lily mumbled slowly getting up and groaning as she climbed the stairs.

"I'm really fed up of this." She hissed going into Nova's room

"I think you need to tell mom to go the hospital tomorrow instead of waiting until Monday because otherwise she might not be okay for Sunday and then I'll be really annoyed." Fliss whispered

I nodded "I will."

Lily came down slowly with the baby and mumbled as she glared wearily "Both of you, please, stop giving me a worried look?"

"Sorry?"

"It's ok."

She sat in between us and mumbled "Finn,"

"Yeah?"

"Um, do you think tomorrow we could go to the hospital?"

"Yeah, of course."

"Ok."

She sighed hard "Why did this happen now?!"

"You'll have to tell York to stop pushing you so hard?"

"I already did as soon as it got too much- every time I complained he added another minute."

I scowled "He shouldn't get to do that to you."

"Well he does because he does the same to all the boys in the group- I'm the only woman and in the first week he didn't treat me the same and I told him to and-" she sighed "This is where it's got me."

The door opened. Effie.

"Hi nanna."

"Oh hello? Did school finish early?"

"No," Lily said quickly "She didn't feel well."

"Oh," she turned to Fliss "What's wrong darling?"

"Um, stomach ache, you know." She trailed off awkwardly- she was as bad liar as what Lily is ninety nine percent of the time.

"Anyway mom, you're back early too?"

She frowned "I am: the salon was empty- literally no one was there except me- I don't understand why you would have an appointment and not keep it or at least have the decency to cancel?"

I paused giving Lily chance to ask and eventually mumbled "Do you have any idea why?"

She sat down and nodded "I knew this morning, well earlier than this morning because Elvie rang to um, tell me."

I turned and put my arm around Lily when I noted she was sat in total silence with a tears rolling down her face.

"Lil, they have nothing to convict you with."

"Well that's what I thought but everyone else seems to think otherwise."

She kissed the top of Nova's head and sat in silence again until she mumbled "I'd like to know when I'm meant to find out about this court case considering I'm the one being charged?"

Lily

I was a murderer. That kid thought I was- the whole of 12 probably thought I was.

"They haven't even confirmed it's going to become a court case- their enquiry needs to be approved before it becomes anything at all!" My mom insisted. How did everyone but me stay so positive?
