It was still dark and quiet in the dorms where students were sleeping in because it was weekend but only one young girl snuck out of the dorm wearing black joggers and a quidditch sweater. This girl was none other than Rey. She headed out with a backpack and her broom at 6 in the morning and tried to wake nobody. She knew that she had to be on the field at 8 but she couldn't sleep anyhow. So it wouldn't hurt to start with the practice already.

She walked down the hallway and stopped when she stood in front of the window. For a moment she leaped towards the window but then she changed her mind and decided to go down the stairs. She wanted to start over and become a good and dedicated player. So no excuses, no being late and no jumping out off windows risking detention which might take in practice time. This time she will do it right.

Before she went to the field she took a sandwich from the breakfast in the great hall and ate it on her way. She was the only one awake so far as she could see. Except for Theodore Darcy, a fifth year and the seeker of Ravenclaw who always goes running early in the morning. She understood why he always went out so early because when the world is still asleep and the sun just touches the tips of the castle that is when for a moment you feel like you're the only one in the world and there is nothing to worry about. She closed her eyes listening to the birds who were also slowly waking up.

'Hey Rey!' Rey opened her eyes again and a boy with ruffled black hair and an athletic posture stood before her.

'Hey Theo. Having your daily early run ey?' Rey asked

'Yeah it is the perfect time to run now and it is sure a beautiful day. Although autumn is finally over now and I can't wait until the first snow begins to fall!' Theodore said excitedly while some drops of sweat were dripping from his forehead.

'I do love winter. They are so many nice things then such as Christmas and the Christmas ball off course! Even though I'm not allowed to go yet I think I might be able to sneak in for an hour and judge all the dresses with Felice.' Rey laughed thinking about last years fiasco when Rey and Felice tried to sneak in and had to hide under the table from mr. Flinch who spotted them. They sat there the entire night talking about when they got to go and discussing the dresses they would wear.

Theo smiled at her 'You know Rey, the ball is in three weeks and I wondered... Would you like to come with me?'

Rey looked confused 'Yeah but I don't think your date will like it if I tag along.'

Theo blushed 'I think I didn't formulate the question well enough. What I mean to ask is will you be my date to the ball?'

Rey was taken by surprise for it was unlikely that fifth years ask third years but Rey loved the idea of going to the ball with Theo. He was quite handsome after all and he seemed to have the same mindset as Rey. 'Yes Theo I would love that.' She smiled radiant and embraced Theo not caring about the sweat from his run.

'I have to go practice now but I will see you later.' She said releasing him and walking towards the quidditch field. She felt like she was walking on air for this was the first time a boy had asked her.

She was doing some rounds on her broom stick on the field trying to get back into the rhythm of playing. It felt great to be back in the air again feeling the wind blow across your face. She tried to some zig zagging and roll overs but her head pounded when she made a quick movement reminding her that she still wasn't allowed to play. She looked down and saw Oliver waving at her carrying the quidditch chest and was wearing his keeper gear.

Rey landed in front of him 'Goodmorning!' She greeted him happily

'Morning!' Oliver said 'How did you come to be so happy on a Saturday morning?' He asked.

'Oh it's being back on the field after days of doing nothing and not flying.' Rey said stepping off of her broomstick.

'Yeah I can totally understand that. When I was first hit by a bludger I couldn't play for weeks and that made me so frustrated.' Oliver said lighting up like he always does when he talks about quidditch.

'Yeah it is quite frustrating but that's not the only reason I'm happy. I also got invited to the Christmas ball this morning!' Rey said

'Find someone to tag along with ey? That's nice, they don't let third years tag along most of the' Oliver was cut off by Rey

'No actually I'm not tagging along, I have a date.'

'A date' Oliver's eyes widened and he put his hand in his neck 'Are you going with Cedric then, your friend?' He asked while he was rubbing his neck

'No Cedric is going with some Hufflepuff girl. I'm going with Theodore, we bumped into each other this morning and that was when he asked me.' Rey explained

'Wait Theodore as in the Ravenclaw seeker?' Oliver asked curiously

'Yes, I know you don't really approve of having relationships or dating the rival but it won't affect my game or motivation.' She said remembering the scene in the hospital wing.

'Ehm no I don't mind you can date whoever you want to.' He said with a bit of irritation in his eyes

'But what about what you said in the hospital' She tried to look into his eyes but he avoided hers.

'Forget about that and the things I said that day.' He snapped and then moved on like nothing happened 'Come on let's train now'

'What is going on with him?' Rey whispered to herself not knowing what she did wrong but she wouldn't let him get to her and reminded herself of the nice things that happened today.
