I whip my head around sending my curls bouncing up a storm. "Oh hi." I say and try to walk away, but Jackson keeps talking.
"I don't think I've ever seen you wear a dress." He muses still sounding sad.
"You haven't." I say wanting to turn away and go get my breakfast, but I don't. This conversation will get me absolutely no where.
"Huh. I've known you for so long, yet I've never seen you wear a dress." Jackson sounds even more heartbroken now.
"Just stop it!" I shout. "I know you're mad at me so you can back off now!"
As soon as the words leave my mouth I feel bad, but I stand my ground."Ok done!" He says anger pooling into his voice. I watch as Jackson walks away.
"Fine!" I yell. "I've wanted to walk away this whole time!"
"I know." He says back to me still walking away. And then angry and hurt he says, "You always have. It's my turn."
I storm off my heels clicking on the floor. He doesn't look back and neither do I. I walk over to my friends and I don't even care that I caused a scene. Leanne rubs my back, "Sweetie let's get you back up to the room." She starts to lead me away.
Lisa forces a smile and tries to be cheery, "I'll grab you breakfast."
"Aww...thanks guys." I say. I'm not even a sentimental person, but I think I might cry right now. And not over a boy.
As Leanne leads me upstairs she says, "Lizzy, are you OK?"
"I'm fine." I say, but I'm not. It's no big deal; but it is.
When we get back to the room Leanne suggests, "Maybe you should apologize."
"You're right." I admit. I was my fault that he walked away, but he started this whole thing by asking about my parents. It's a dicey topic and I get hurt easily when I talk about it. I'll apologize though. "But we're not supposed to be in the boys section and he's not at breakfast."
"Oh we're not going into the boys section, " Leanne say an evil smile once again on her face. "you are."
"No. No way." I deny.
Leanne studies her nails. "Well I guess you can just never apologize and ruin your relationship forever. "
"Ugh. Fine I'll do it." I agree. "But you have to covet me. If anyone comes near you have to distract them and text me."
"Deal." Leanne agrees.
Ten minutes later I'm knocking on Jackson's dorm room door. He opens the door, "What do you want?"
I ignore the insult and apologize. "I'm sorry. It wasn't fair for me to blow up on you."
"You could get in huge trouble for being over here!" He says worried about me again.
"I figured it was worth it." I say sweetly the blush and look away.
He leans on the doorframe. "Good 'cause I forgive you. Now Princess, you better get out of here before you get caught."
"Will do." I smile.
When I get back to the room my breakfast is waiting for me and so is Lisa. "Thanks Lisa!" I thank her. Then I chow down. "How was it?" They ask me at the same time.
"It went pretty well." I laugh. They smile at me and I can't help but smile back.
