Amelia's pov
"Amelia?" My face turned red no one has ever heard me sing except for Maria.
I turn around only to find Manolo "Manolo?" He blushed when I said his name "what are you doing here?"
He rubbed the back of his neck "I came here to clear my mind you know since the bull fight not many people are proud of what I did."
I looked up to him "well I think you did a kind and noble thing you didn't want to take a life that was worth living." He looked down still ashamed for not finishing the job "but it was meant to be done to, make my family proud"
"just because it should be done doesn't mean it needs to be done!" He looked at me amazed by my words.  "I never thought of it like that" I looked at him and smiled.
"in our life there is things we learn everyday and it opens our eyes to something we couldn't even think of" I said as I stared at the sunset showing the beauty of our town.
"I heard you're father is throwing a party for you two returning" I looked down still upset by my father's words "oh I see" he looked at me with concern.
"You don't seem very happy about it" he said "well when I cheered for you for not killing the bull my father said how could you find and honorable man when you can't be an honorable woman." A tear fell from eye as I closed my eye shut trying to forget those hurtful words.
Manolo took my hand " well you're father is wrong you are an honorable woman it seemed like Spain treated you well." I thought of that memory as well it wasn't good either.
"Spain was fun for Maria but not for me...." I pulled my hand away and turned away.
"Why not?" I tried not to cry because I wanted to be strong.
" I... I was bullied there a lot all the girls called me a nerd for I loved books much more than finding a man they always told me I would be alone and be a miserable hag and once they tore some pages from the storybook you gave me saying that...... that book was for children." He grabbed me and hugged me I was shocked at first but returned the hug.
Until I heard "Amelia!!!" It was Maria I pulled away blushing, having butterflies in my stomach. Maria ran to me and hugged "oh my gosh Amelia are you okay I looked for you in the town and couldn't find you I was so worried."
We pulled away "it's okay Maria Manolo was keeping me company."
She looked at me then Manolo and smirked "okay.... Anyway we need to go home papa has prepared a party for.." I cut her off "for us but I'm not going I refuse!" I said "why?" I looked at the town.
"Because of what papa said he basically said I'm not a honorable woman that hurt me so much and that proves that he likes you more than me." I said looking at Maria with sadness. She sighed and nodded "okay I'll sneak you upstairs to our room and you can stay there because I would do the same thing if papa would say that to me okay?" I smiled and hugged her "okay!"
I look over to Manolo and waved as my sister drags me "bye Manolo see you later"
Meanwhile..... 
Third person's pov
As those moments when Amelia and Manolo were talking la Muerte and Xibalba were watching the whole thing.
La Muerte smiled with joy and looked over to Xibalba "I see my couple are very swell and yet I see you're doing nothing I think we'll know who had won!"
She winked at Xibalba and went back to the land of the remember. Xibalba was thinking he knew la Muerte's couple would win for sure he needed them to be separated as he thought he came up with a plan to officially win.
He began to set into place and laughed "this wager is mine" with that said he went to the land of the forgotten and had began to wait for the right moment....

Manolo's POV
It was night time and the mariachi band and me wandered the town while everyone else was at the party.
"Manolo isn't it funny that the whole town was invited to the fiesta except you even we were invited and the general hates us!" Said Pepe.
I glared at them and groaned "I know but I think I'm in love with Amelia and I just don't know how to confess!!" The mariachi boys looked at me and huddled up and as soon as they were done talking came up to me and said " you just need to sing to her man I mean all girls love that kind of stuff always." I thought of something and grinned grabbing my guitar and running all the way to Amelia Pasada's home.
Amelia's Pov
Maria had successfully snuck me into our home without our papa finding me and Maria and introducing us to men to marry. Papa really wants Maria to marry Joaquin but I don't know they seem like really good couple but Maria states "he just thinks women aren't made for fighting but for cleaning." But I give it time and those two will be a cute couple.
Her pig pet chuy came over and I laugh as he puts his snout on my knee he is the cutest until I hear someone singing outside.

As Manolo comes closer I lean in and then.......
I put my finger to his lips and laugh "did you honestly think it was going to be that easy he looked confused. I kiss him on the cheek and he blushes "I like you're singing Manolo but be patient and maybe there would be more than just a kiss on the cheek."
He starts losing balance and falls off the balcony I looked down worried and yelled "are you alright?" He just shook it off and smiled. "Si but Amelia meet me tomorrow at the tree okay?" I looked at him "but why Manolo?" He just chuckled "just do it please!"
I looked at him and smiled "of course!" I waved to him as he ran and went from the balcony to my bed and sighed and let darkness consume me as I dreamt of Manolo Sanchez!
