Survivor Series, November 23, 2014 - St. Louis, Ohio
"Two minutes, Ricky," a new tech informs me, as I stretch my arms.
"Thanks..." I trail off.
"Kevin," he smiles.
"Thanks, Kevin,"
That is rule one for my family, always know the name of everyone you work with from your bosses, to the techs and roadies, to the people who prepare your food everyday. Cracking my knuckles and neck, I walk to the gorilla.
"Ready for the big return, kid?" the infamous authority figure, Triple H a.k.a. Paul Levesque asks, looking down at me.
"I'm always ready," I state. Confidence is key in this business, just don't let it become cockiness. Rolling his eyes, a smile pulls at his lips, as he places a hand on my right shoulder over the rather large scar.
"Remember, don't let this get the best of you out there. It's healed. It's been healed for two months now. You've been in the ring with your brother and held up as good as you had before. You can do this," Triple H assures me. I did it a lot the first few times I had gotten back in the ring, doubting that I was ready, and it hurt me in the end. I let it push back my training time for weeks on end, let the fear eat me alive until...
"Here is your winner and new Diva's champion, Nikki Bella!" Lillian Garcia announces, as Nikki's theme plays through the large arena.
"Go get 'em," he gives my shoulder one last squeeze, before my theme cuts into hers. This is it. Darting out from behind the curtain, I run to the ring easily sliding under the bottom rope. Screams from the WWE universe greet me at an ear piercing level.
"Oh my god, Oh my god!" Michael Cole exclaims. The younger twin spins around to face me, a look of shock on her face, as my left shoulder collides with her hips in a powerful spear. We hit the mat hard.
"After nearly eleven months, Ricky Reigns is back from a career threatening injury!"
Nikki drops from the top rope, a scared look on her face, clutching her newly obtained Diva's championship. The very championship that I had to vacate the next night on Raw after a hard fight to retain it against AJ Lee. She turns to leave the ring only for me to grab her arm, causing her to drop her title. I whip her into the turnbuckle. She stumbles back slightly, clutching her now hurting shoulder. Taking a deep breath, I run up her back, using her to get a little air before bringing the sole of my foot down onto the back of her head. I take special care to land on the ground next to her, rather than follow her head down to the mat. Giving my signature smirk at my destruction, I pick up the title and hold it up, allowing my theme to play loudly. Make sure you give time for Michael to say the last of his commentary. I drop the title across her back and step through the rope, carefully jumping down from the ring. Walking backwards, I look at the work I'd done then to the crown of cheering fans. Damn does it feel good to be home.
