Alicia's POV

"Wow. After all this time, Andrew finally tells me that quicksand is effective against Brian. Took long enough..." I think. After we captured Brian, we went to Matthew's nearest base. Don't ask. Those boys seemed to have lined the solar system with bases. Not kidding. Brian apparently has a base on Mars. Anyways... We met up with Matthew at his base. There, he threw Brian into a prison cell and told us to crash in the living room. It was like being in a mansion. The whole place was lined with gold braces. Not very effective but still amazing. The food is first-class and the couches are like clouds. We spend the night in the living room. Matthew has carpets that flip into beds. The couches are the same. Now that Brian is finally held captive, everyone seems more cheerful and carefree... Except for Matthew. While we played board games, he looked at maps and made battle plans. After the board games, we go into Matthew's training gym. It was amazing. The whole place was filled with training equipment. Weights, running machines, the usual. In the corner, there is a staircase that leads to a battlefield. There, we train with the newer recruits.

I spar with Patrick so I can analyze his fighting style and techniques. He has the power to turn anything solid or liquid into the four main elements; fire, earth, air, or water. And, he has magic. Dark magic. The exact opposite of my magic. My magic shines bright purple. His magic is pitch black. In fact, it seems to drain the light out of everything. It has the same aura as Brian with his black irises which can't be good. The fact that the first person Patrick met is Brian is also bad news. In fact, Patrick seemed to have copied Brian's fashion and fighting styles. Almost identical swords and their fighting style is completely identical. He even uses Brian's lightning sword attack. He raises his sword and black lightning flashes. It hits the sword and flickers. As he races towards me, the sword moves so fast that it creates an afterimage. But not as fast as Brian. I raise my wooden staff and spin it. The sword flings out of his hand and impales itself in a column. I swing my staff at him. He ducks under and knocks my feet right out from under me. My staff goes flying. He snatches it out of the air and points it at my throat. I use my magic to swing it around. He goes flying down the stairs to the dungeon. He runs back up. I stand up too. He runs toward me again with his sword. This time, instead of stabbing me or slashing at me, he runs up, flips over my head and rams the hilt into my back. I get knocked into a column. Stars circle my vision as I stand. It takes me a minute to find my balance.

"You're pretty good." I say, "that Brian taught you well..."

His looks up at me. Anger flashes through his eyes. Wait. His eyes. His irises are black. His sword. His sword is silver not black. He also has a cape but it is different from the cross pattern Patrick had. It is black with red diamonds and silver streaks. He must have switched with him when he fell down the stairs. He escaped that quick. Brian.
