I dialed his number three times.Still no answer. Where the hell did he even go so quickly? Right then, I heard the tires of his blue mustang screech. I rushed outside to find I was only seconds late to catching up to him.
"Chris, what the hell." I said quietly to myself.
I picked up my phone again. I dialed Katherine's number by memory.
"Hey, any idea why Chris is acting so weird?" I asked.
"Whose Chris?" Her response made me want to shoot myself in the head. Ugh, I don't have time to explain.
"Never mind, call you later. Bye."
"Wait, Alyce!" I heard her call before I hung it up. I felt bad, but I will explain later.
I have to figure out this mess by myself.
"You are meant for him, Alyce. Take care." His words rung in the back of my head. What caused him to be so harsh on me? Was it something I said? A hot tear escaped my eye. My throat burned. I rushed to my car and grabbed my keys and started the engine.
"Hey, date night tonight? Thinking dinner and a movie? You down? :)" I received a text from Tyler. I will answer him later. I turned my phone off. I have to figure out whats up with Chris.

CHRIS POV
What does Alyce not understand? I want to be with her. But Tyler is in the way. I can't just keep letting myself get hurt watching her by with him. I just can't. It was the right thing to do. You did the right thing, Chris. Stop thinking about it. The tears dripping down her eyes when you told her that. Stop. Right. Now. I picked up the last of the box sitting by the door.
"Is that the last of it?" I asked my brother, Nathan. He stood their in his jeans and his baseball shirt holding a box as well.
"Yes, we better get all of this in the mover before Dad comes home. I don't wanna see him." Nathan made clear.
"Now you know how I have been feeling for the last seventeen years." I mumbled under my breath not loud enough for him to hear.
"That was the last of it." He threw the last box in the truck, it hit the bottom of it with a clash.
"Great, exactly what we need at the minute." Nathan and I both rushed inside as it began to ran. "Chris, what aren't you telling me? Haven't you been waiting for this day like all your life?" He sunk in his chair at the same level next to me.
"Of course I am. It is just-" With that, the door bell rang. I sprung up thinking it was the movers ready to get us out of here.
Alyce.
She was in a dress that was backless with a beautiful flowery print. Her hair was wet from the rain. Her beautiful hazel eyes lit up like fire to me. Her arms wrapped around herself trying to get warm. She look she lost the color in her skin though. She looks so tired. The bags under her eyes were huge. Along with the mascara that was running down her eyes, but for some weird reason I still found her stunning. You can tell she had been crying. Rain dripped down her cheek. I couldn't tell at this point what were her tears and what wasn't. I stood their in shock not knowing what to say to her.
"W-what are you doing here?" I managed to croak out.
"I needed to see you." Her words sounded warm, sounded promising and welcoming.
"How did you find my house?" I said dumbfounded.
"I looked in the school handbook until I found your name." Her voice began to sink more and more down. She shivered in the freezing, cold rain. Ugh, what am I doing. I still care about her.
"Oh my God, come in." I pulled her with my warm hands inside. She braced herself as I did so. She let out a kind of sigh. "You're freezing." I said when I felt her body. I took off my jacket and gave it to her.
"Thanks." She said weakly as she pulled it in closer to her body. The jacket did not fit her right at all. It was too big in all the wrong places, but it was kind of a comforting feeling seeing it on her. "I-Im sorry for w-whatever I did to hurt you. Chris, I want you to be my friend." Her voice cracked.
"I know." I let her go on.
"Now that I have you in my life- I-I don't know if I am ready to let go of you so easily. Why did you say that earlier today? You don't know how hurt I was when you did." Right when she said that, I instantly regretted the pain I put her through. There had to be a better way than the way I handled it. Seeing her cry was one of the worst things in life. I hated it especially knowing you caused it, it is one thing when she is crying on your shoulder about someone else.
"Alyce, I didn't know what to do or how to handle it. And I am sorry I handled it the way I did. Just after that night when I dropped you off at his house, everything just down spiraled from there. I wanted to be with you, but not in the way you want to be with me. I just thought it was too hard to be your friend and also be in love with you-"
"Wait, you're in love with me?" Her voice shook.
"Yes, Ally. I-I love you." I didn't expect her to say it back but I had to get it out. I looked at he for a response.
She pressed her lips together trying to hold back the tears. She closed her eyes and crossed her arms. "I wish it didn't have to be this way. I wish you felt the same way about me as I do to you. I know this is so hard for you to hear, but it is so hard for me to say it. Chris, you know I love Tyler." I put my head down. How dumb was I to think I have a chance with her. She picked my head up. "But that doesn't mean I don't care about you. I care about you so so much."
"Ally, I know you won't say it but I know you like me. I know you will never admit it because of Tyler, but I can tell. I make you nervous, just like he does. I could be so much better than him, if you just would let me-"
"Chris stop."
"No listen, I know you like me even if it is just an ounce that you'll never admit. But I am not giving up on you."
"I never said I didn't want you to." She said boldy.
"Good, cuz I am not." I made clear. Another tear escaped her face. "Don't cry. Please, it is making me feel terrible."
"I'm sorry." She struggled to get out.
"Stop, I am the one who should be apologizing." I said.
"Can we never fight again? I need you as my best friend." She said.
"I realized as long as I am part of your life. I will be okay. For now." I smiled down at her and hugged her.
