Hey guys, so this is the first time I'm posting a book I've wrote that is not Fan fiction so we'll see how this goes.
Violet wonders why she hurts so much from the last couple words leaving Asher’s mouth. Asher had always been the brightness in Violet’s life, his name translating to the literally meaning of ‘blessed’ so it was no surprise that Violet felt blessed to have Asher in her life. So why hadn’t he felt the same about Violet?
“Please don’t cry sweetheart, I’ll be back. It’s just for the summer,” Maybe she hadn’t realized how much she had been depending on the love of Asher to make her happy, maybe she thought she would be okay without him just for a couple months. But Violet also knew deep down you didn’t get more wrong.
So when Asher leaned down and placed a kiss onto Violets head she wondered if it was true, would Asher come back for her in August? Or could this actually be the end of her as she had known it? Because surely there was no Violet without Asher. She tried so hard to stop the dark thoughts from escaping her brain, but she also wondered if he would stay if she let just one of those thoughts slip out.
“Am I not good enough?” Violet didn’t let herself cry this time. She had let Asher see her cry too many times for him to just up and leave her in the busy daylight hours of May twenty-something. Asher took a knee in front of Violet who was sitting on her apartment stairs.
“You’re perfect baby, but I’m not.” The way Asher had said the world made Violet feel like he was throwing poison at her. Violet was sure that Asher couldn’t mean what she thought, that he wasn’t worth her time?
“You are though,” Violet had managed to stutter out the short words while keeping her breathing under control. Her nimble hands danced on the pale skin of Asher’s cheeks. She had always loved to watch the almost transparent color change to a strawberry crayon under her touch. But this time it only made her sick. Violet feared a lot that she would spit bile up all over the stair she was sitting on.
“Vi, please, we’ve played this game long enough, it’s time for me to go.” Violet couldn’t believe how he had snapped at her. Her hands had dropped back down to her knees that were the only spot on her legs not covered in a jean material. Violet has always been the girl with ripped knees. It was what first attracted Asher to the beautiful blonde.
He remembered it like it was just yesterday, when in reality it was almost two years ago. He had came into a small town in Florida called by Winter Springs. Asher had pulled up to a bar that smelled like alcohol and cigarette smoke from the outside, his helmet was disregarded on the seat of his two person motorcycle. His leather jacket was unzipped so it fell open showing off his very warn down Pink Floyd shirt.
The bar door had opened just as Asher was going to open it. A women in a short leather skirt and a tiny white tank top walked out stumbling on her overly high heels. Asher tried to hide the disgust in the girl, he was never one to go for a to-put-it-nicely, slut. And as a fat old man followed her out of the bar with a pleased look on his face and a death grip on her his jacket, Asher was sure those were not to the people he wanted to mess with.
The rest of the bar was covered in a dark smoke due to everyone lighting up at once, it was so much that Asher had finally coughed to clean his lungs out. He had taken the first seat available which happened to me next to a girl who looked much too young to be in this bar. Much like himself, she was probably just here for a burger.
Her blonde hair was pulled to one side of her head while her blue eyes scanned over Asher from the side. Asher took notice of the girls blue jeans that had most definitely been cut at the knees by the younger girl. Her red flannel shirt had been unbuttoned and quite-frankly Asher had never seen someone so beautiful look so tired.
