The Purge

Chapter 1

I rushed through the store grabbing all the food i could afford. Luckily, i had $130 for 12 hours of food.

"Emily!" I turned around to see my friend Alilah. "Did you get some can food?"

I looked down at my cart filled of stuff and sighed "Not yet."

"Well i go with you to get it. We need to hurry up, there is an hour left until it starts." She looked at her phone to check the time.

"Well come on, my house is 15 minutes away and you dont drive the speed limit so i think were ok." I laughed and walked toward the can foods.

"Whats that suppose to mean?" She ran up next to me.

"It means you dont drive the speed limit." I looked over at her.

"I do to!" Her faced showed anger.

"Hey calm down, im just messing with you." I said picking up the cans and putting them into the cart.

We finally got to my house and everyone was waiting, making sure the doors where locked and then was enough flashlights.

"Hey someone turn on the TV!" Lucas yelled from the kitchen.

I stood at the window borading them up with metal sheets and alot of plywood, yes, it wasnt the best protection but it would have to work.

"Wheres the romote?" Harley said picking up papers and looking around.

"On the table." Alilah said pointing and handing me another nail.

Me and Alilah were 17, everyone else was 18. Of course, i live with Alilah in an apartment. My parents left me when i was 15 and Alilah already moved out at 14 cause her parents died in the last Purge America had.

"Where is Lydia and Shane?" I said jumping down from the counter.

"I believe they are outside." Lucas looked over at me.

"Why? Its literally about to start." I said running toward the door.

I opened the door and my mouth dropped. I wanted to scream cause it horrified me so much but I chose not to.

"WHY ARE YALL MAKING OUT?!" I yelled at them.

Alilah came running behind me and we both died of laughter. Shane and Daniela looked at each other.

"Guys thats so sad." Alilah said still laughing.

"Oh my god im dying, this is priceless." I said falling to the ground.

"When you finally think Shane isnt a hoe." Alilah helped me up.
"Nah, hes still a hoe." I said walking away and still laughing.
"AHHH WHY GUYS WHY!" Alilah yelled.

"WHO'S MAKING OUT THIS TIME?!" I yelled across the house.

"Harley and Lucas." Alilah said looking toward me.

I looked over at them and sighed "I thought yall were better than Shane."

Harley laughed then smiled, "But me and Lucas are dating."

"True." Me and Alilah both said at the same time.

"Ok you get a slide but Shane doesnt." I looked over at Shane.

"Thats actually really offensive." He came up behind me and hugged me.

"See? Hes being a hoe again." I laughed.

Me and Shane have been great friends for a while now. But he will never be a hoe to me.

"Well its starting." Lydia said.

Lucas turns off the TV.

"Ugh were gonna die." I said in my head.
