I sat in class staring at the clock waiting for school to end as usual its 2:15 ugh wtf is school so long!
"Mackenzie?" I averted my attention to Mr.Lewis
"What?" I asked confused
"Exactly" he said and the whole class laughed at me I didn't give a shit I just wanted school to end I had to get out of here quick I glanced at the clock it was 2:17 ugh why can't time just quicken a bit I raised my hand
"Can I go to the Bathroom?" I asked
"Theres only 9 more minutes left can you wait?" Mr.Lewis asked
"no" I lied I dint even need to go to the bathroom what I needed was to get out of here
"ok fine" he said annoyed he looked back at the board I grabbed my bag and ran out of the classroom down the hall to the parking lot, lets see where the heck is Everett I spotted his car and ran over to him I jumped in the car
"hey" I said
"hey so where are exactly are we going?" he asked
"Ugh I gave you directions you lost them?" I asked frustrated
"yeah sorry" he said
"ok wait ill find the address on my phone" I said I got out my phone and went to the text Bart I clicked on his name and opened up our text messages and found the address and directions
"here" I said and handed Everett my phone
"now lets go" I said ugh I'm probably gonna be late
"Ok" he said he started the car and we drove there I was so nervous I kept glancing at the time it was 2:21 I had to be their at 2:35 ugh why? I need this
"does dad know about this and you ditching school?" he asked
"no only you know and I hope it stays that way" I said
"if you don't get in what are you going to do?" he asks
"nothing" I said
"and if you do get in what are you going to do?" he asked
"um tell dad" I said
"ok" he said I was so nervous
"how long are the auditions?" he asked me
"I don't know" I said
"what?!" he asked
"I didn't check" I said
"why didn't you" he said
"I don't know why do you care?" I asked him
"well how do you know its not like 6 hours?" he asked
"um because thats crazy" I said
"are you sure this audition is legit? how do you know someones not catfishing you and wants to murder you?" he asked
"because" I said
"oh wow convincing" he said
"you're stressing me out" I said
"well I'm about to really stress you out by telling you were here" he said he stopped the car so I could get out
"good luck" Everett said
"thanks" I said
"text me when you need a ride" I got up and out of the car ugh I was scared
"Ok I will, tell Andy I went to a friends house ok?" I asked him through the window
"yeah calm down everything fine you'll do great" he said
"Are you sure?" I asked
"yes your very talented ok now go break a leg" he smiled
"ok thanks Everett" I said he drove off and I was left here alone I checked my phone it was 2:30 shit I ran in the building and saw the lady at the desk
"Hello is Bart Bordelon here?" I asked
"only people with appointments can see him no crazy fan girls aloud" she said ugh rude
"Im here to audition for magcon my names Mackenzie Kaepernick" I said she looked at her computer for a second
"oh I'm so sorry" she said
"right this was" she stood up and started walking um well I guess ill follow her then she walked down a hall down a couple of stairs and into another building and then she stopped
"wait here" she said to me she walked into the room and I awkwardly stood there for about 5 minutes until she came back out
"ok follow me" she said I walked behind her into a room there was a desk and chairs on both sides
"wait here Mr.Bordelon will be in shortly" she said and left I sat in the seat and looked around, the room had pictures of all the boys to be honest I didn't watch their videos it's not that I don't like them its just I don't have time to watch their videos I know most of their names because everyone at my school is obsessed with them my older sister is in love with them and their all she talks about thats how I know about them I looked at all their photos I really want to get in so bad like I want this
"hello I'm Bart" I stood up and shook his hand
"Hi I'm Mackenzie its nice to meet you" I said
"you too" he said and we both sat down
"so as you know we chose you to audition for magcon" he said
"yeah" I said awkwardly
"um so I'm just gonna ask you some questions answer them honestly trust me it pretty simple there just questions so I can get to know you better" he smiled
"ok" I said
"oh theres some water and cracker feel free to have whatever you want" he added
"ok thanks" I said
"why do you want to be in magcon?" he asked if the rest of the questions are gonna be like this I'm screwed
"well I love singing its like a way to escape the world and if it will make other people happy then I would love to do it" I said ugh that was a terrible answer
"How do you plan to keep up with your school work while touring?"
"I could check in with my teachers every week and my high school has an online based program for kids who can't go to school" I said
after he asked me like 100 freaking questions he wrote a couple notes on his paper I couldn't see it that well so I couldn't read it I really wanted to read the notes though
"we have a couple of rules for magcon" he said putting his pencil down
"ok" I said
"since we've never had a girl in magcon but Mahogany we made a new rule which is no dating anyone in magcon our other rules are simple no drugs, no alcohol, and if you miss 3 shows unexcused or break any of those rules your kicked out of Magcon" he said
"ok seems simple" I said
"do you have any questions?" he asked
"Um yeah how many other people auditioned? And when will I find out if I got in?" I asked
"we asked 10 people to audition and you're the last person to audition, so how the process works is we review all your answers with the boys and we judge you based on you personality we have already seen your youtube videos and when were done we will chose 5 of our applicants and invite them to tour with magcon for a week then on twitter the magcon family will vote for the 2 people they want to see in magcon because they are our number one priority me and the boys do this to make them happy" he said
"Ok great!" I said
"it was a pleasure meeting you" he said
"yeah you too" I said I got up and walked out of his office down the hall up some stairs and once I reached the lobby I texted Everett
Mac: hey I'm done can you pick me up in the same spot?
Everett: sure see you in like 5 min
Mac: ok thanks
I sat down in the lobby for about 10 minutes when Everett texted me
Everett: I'm here
Mac: ok
I got up and walked to the exit and left I saw Everett's car I walked towards him and got in
"how was the audition?" he asked starting the car
"I wouldn't really call it and audition" I said
"why?" he asked confused
"it was more like an interview" I said
"ok so how did it go?" he asked
"I don't know" I said
"well do you think you got in?" he asked
"Bart doesn't choose I mean he does but he doesn't" I said
"You're making no sense" he told me
"so he interviewed 10 people then he will pick 5 people to tour with magcon for a week then the fans will vote for whoever they want to see back on tour and thats who will get in and they can only pick 2 and maybe 3 with an exception" I said
"ok you have lots of twitter followers right?" he asked
"that doesn't matter" I said
"yes it does" he said
"So?" I said
"lets so stalk some people and try to find out who else auditioned" he said
"Whats the point of that?" I asked
"to scope out your competition" he said
"you freaking Mackenzie Kaepernick" he said
"social media star" he added
"I have 2 thousand followers that does not make me famous" I told him
"are you kidding me your like technically a social media star" he said trying to convince me I'm famous
"So did Andy buy my excuse that I was at a friends house?" I asked
"um sorta" he said
"What?!" I asked
"well a girl who works for Bart called our house to remind you that you had an audition today" Everett said
"Shit so he knows?" I asked
"um sorta but he doesn't know what Magcon means" Everett said
"ugh great" I said the rest of the car ride was boring I got out my phone and surprisingly there were no messages from Andy I went on twitter and realized I wasn't following any of the Magcon boys so I went and followed all of them Everett pulled into our drive way and I got out I walked up to the door and walked inside and Andy was there sitting on the couch
"Where the hell were you and what the hell is Magcon?" He questioned
"Wait your in Magcon?!" Sophie my older sister screeched
"Wait Mackenzie actually got a job?" Zev asked
"oh my gosh just let her talk" Everett said walking through the door hanging his keys up on the key rack
"thank you" I said
"ok magcon is a tour with 12 people" there no way I'm mentioning their all guys
"and I auditioned to be the 13th person" I said
"What do they tour?"
"Where do they tour?"
"How long will you be gone?"
"Who are you going with?"
"Why are you going?"
"Who are these 12 people?"
"Oh my god stop!" I said
"I don't know if I got in or not" I said
"can you just explain it" Andy said
"ok it's a tour with 12 people who are social media famous they tour the world I would be gone for months at a time but I would always come home a visit I'm going or I might be going because they asked me to audition" I said
"Ok so when do you know if you got in or not?" Andy asked
"I'm not sure" I said
"ahhh!!" Sophie screamed
"my little sister is joining magcon!!!" she screamed
"I'm not in yet" I said
"does that mean I can meet all of them?" she asked
"um if I get in maybe" I said
"nest time don't lie to me" Andy yelled walking up stairs
"ok I need to educate you on all of them if you're going to meet them" Sophie said
"I don't know If Im eve-"
"lets also go see who else auditioned or got interviewed" Everett cut me off
"ugh" I said the dragged me up stairs and we went into Sophie's room she grabbed her laptop and phone I sat between her and Everett on her couch she pulled up their instagram's and twitters
"ok so I'm gonna educate you on every boy" she said
"um ok" I said she pulled up one of their instagram's
"this is Cameron Dallas" she said
"he's 18" she said (note I wrote this story like 3 years ago and forgot about it until now)
"Ok what makes him special?" I asked
"excuse me?" she asked offended
"do you not see it?" she asked me shocked
"See what?" I asked
"his talent he's hot, charming, sweet, funny and he has over 9 million followers on Vine and more than 4.7 million subscribers on YouTube is that special enough for you?" she said
"well ok" I said
"now on to the next boy Matthew Espinosa aka my husband" she said
"wow" I mumbled she's delusional
"he was born in Virginia, he's 16 years old his birthday is July 7th"
"hey thats in a couple of days" I cut her off
"yeah I know" she said
"he plays football and lacrosse, his favorite shoe brand is vans, he wears American Eagle under-" wow
"Wait hold up, how do you know this?" I asked
"trust me theres a lot I know" she says
"ok" I mumbled
"wait I found out all the people who applied" Everett said
"How?" I asked
"because all of them tweeted about it" he said
"and there all girls" Everett said
"Ok whatever who are they?" I asked
"you, Bree Worthington, Amber McKormick, Clarissa Vanderwalt, Layla Parker, Macy Simmon, Sabrina Ludinton, Lauren Nielson, Bridget Johnson, and Jessica Preston" Everett said
"ok wow" I said he pulled up their instagrams and they all looked like freaking models
"holy shit" I said
"please tell me they're not all this good looking in real life" I added
"wow there hot" Everett said I elbowed him
"I mean their personalities probably suck though" he added trying to make me feel better
"dayum her makeup is on point" Sophie said
"ok I get it their super attractive" I said
"Kids its dinner!" Andy yelled from downstairs
"ugh we can stalk them later I'm starving" I said
"same" Everett agreed
"Aren't we the best stalkers?" Sophie asked
"yeah don't ever say that again" I laughed
