All Because of Him

Chapter 2

Katherine's Pov

Beep! Beep! Beep!
I awoke with anger because of my stupid alarm clock. It was 6:00 am and I was already dreading this day. I quickly shut it off and threw it against my bed table. It was September 9th today and I really wasn't looking forward to today. I swung my feet off of my king sized bed, and once I was up I realized I never wanted to leave it's comfortable padding and warm, delicate blankets. Before I could do anything else my mom came in and hugged me tight to the point where I had no air left, "Oh good morning sweetheart! How did you sleep? Ready for your first day back as a senior?" She exaggerated the last word and wiggled her eyebrows causing me to chuckle and roll my eyes.

I love my mom and I'm very proud to call her my mother. She does everything she can and goes out of her crazy work schedule just to check up on me whenever she can. She's hardly at home because she always has fashion lines to work or incredibly important meetings around the country basically. I truly love her for that, but sometimes I just wish she'd take a break of always traveling 24/7 just so we can sit down and watch movies all day in our penthouse.

Today she's leaving to California to discuss the work she's been doing on her fashion line and she won't be coming back until next Monday. So therefore, I will have the penthouse all to myself. My mom is well known in the business industry because she takes after my grandma. As much as I would love to have my own fashion line I don't find It very interesting. I want to become a doctor when I grow up and help people with their health. My mom was a little disappointed that I told her back then but she then told me that she would support me with whatever I decided to become.

     After she released me from squeezing me so tightly I replied with a shaky voice, "Good morning mom," I smiled a wide smile to the point where my cheeks were going to peel off, "I slept great and I'm kinda already dreading this day."

     She frowned and said, "Oh honey I'm so sorry I wish I could reschedule my meeting but I can't, but hey!" her eyes were filled with excitement and her pearly straight teeth were glowing. Maybe it was just me because I woke up two minutes ago but they seemed to light up the room,"I can take you to school! My flight doesn't board till 10 so that gives me time. I'm really going to miss you sweetie but guess what? I don't have to travel anymore for at least two weeks! They're giving me those weeks off, I mean I still have to work during the day but I will arrive before 6 so it will give us time to go wherever you want okay?"

"Of course mom and no don't be sorry I love you and I'm so proud of you mom. I can't wait till you get back. Um but right now I kinda have to get ready for school so I'll meet you downstairs in 35 minutes?" I flashed her a smile as I started to grab my clothes from the drawers that my mom placed for me. She told me it was a perfect 'back to school look' and I didn't doubt my moms taste for a second. "Okay sounds good baby. I'll make you coffee and oatmeal with fruits, I will be waiting downstairs." She smiled right before closing the door.

I quickly jumped into the shower trying not to get distracted by the hot water as it relaxed my muscles. I rinsed most of the conditioner off my hair and continued washing my body. As soon as I was done I turned off the head of the shower and stepped out. I brushed my teeth after and then I stepped out into my room and turned on the light. I could hear the city awakening and it brought a smile to my face.

    I loved New York, it's city brought me happiness and the thought of being surrounded by it and all the different types of foods made me happier. It was 6:17 am, I had at least 43 minutes to do my hair and head out.

I was still in my robe when I was blow drying my hair . It took me a good ten minutes to blow dry it then after I started to straighten it. Thank god my hair was not too thick nor too thin so it didn't take long to straighten it. I walked out of my bathroom and into my bedroom. I looked at the clothes my mom picked out for me. If anyone knew me better than I knew myself it was my mom.

My mom picked out a navy green tang top with lace at the top and a black blazer that ended right where my hips were with black jeans. To top off the look mom added Tim Burtons boots which were my favorite. They were a nude coffee color and they just fit so perfect with the look. After I put my 'back to school' clothes on I decided to go with a natural look and just put mascara on my bottom and top eyelashes, not too heavy but just the right amount. I then put on Chapstick just so my lips wouldn't dry out during the day. I was satisfied with how I looked today.

   Usually I wouldn't care but today felt different. It was probably because well I am starting as a senior today but whatever. I grabbed my brown bag and swung it over my shoulder. It was now 6:42 and I jumped down the stairs two by two almost causing me to fall. I felt jittery maybe because I still wasn't over what happened yesterday. I wish I talked to him more but whatever.

    I released a sigh as I smelled the fresh coffee. I smiled at my mom who was waiting for me. She placed the bowl of oatmeal with apples and bananas down and gave me a cup of coffee. I gave her a big warm smile, thinking god how was I blessed with such an amazing person.

    It was exactly 7:00 am when we decided to head out and we started making our way to my school. I was anxious really I didn't know what it was going to be like and I didn't have a lot of friends because most of the girls hated me when I didn't do anything to them. We arrived 20 minutes later and I turned to look at my mom before stepping outside.

   "Mom I'm going to miss you so much I hope you have fun while your out and I love you a lot, and um do you think you can bring me back something?" I said not really sure if she would accept what I just asked her but instead she smiled so wide I thought she was going to burst.

  "Of course!! Anything for you my love. I'm going to call you everyday to check up on you okay? Call me if you need anything I put more money on your card just incase and sweetie?"

   "Yeah?" I looked at her with confused eyes as to what she was going to ask me.

   She smiled wide again and pulled me in for a hug,"I love you so much. Your my happiness and I will miss you so so so so much. Have fun this week in school and don't get in to much trouble okay?"

    I giggled at what she said,"Yes mom I promise. I love you and I can't wait until you get back! Bye bye mom I love you be safe and call me when you land okay? I'll be out by then."

   "Okay sweetheart bye now I love you!"

    I waved as she began to reverse out of a parking spot. I was now on my way up the steps to Charleston High. I glanced at my watch as it was 7:24. The warning bell rang as soon as I entered. Everyone was starting to look up to see who walked in. I felt kind of nervous but it was alright I just had to survive and get to my locker. When I walked pass all these people I could hear whispers it was annoying me but it made me feel confident.

     "Who is she? Is she the new girl?"

     "She's really pretty ugh I already hate her. "

    "Look at her eyes, they're so pretty I wish I had them."

   "Hasn't Damon been trying to get her but she refused
...she's wise."

    All those comments had my head spinning and class hasn't even started. I quickly ran to my locker and to my first period chemistry. I was excited yet I had a nervous feeling which I didn't like.

Hey guys sorry this is really long and about her mom and hers d her routine it's just her mom is a really important person in her life and the juicy stuff is coming up next chapter. So yeah her mom plays an important role throughout the book like no joke she's really imports to buy I can't spill out why lol.
