"Breathe" I say to myself. "This is your day, the day you have been waiting for ever since you turned eighteen''. I reach down to start my car as my mom, Lorraine, calls me.
''Okay, I'm here at the venue with Hillary. Your dress, shoes and everything else are here."
''Thanks! Have you talked to Liam or seen him?''
''No. Why?''
''Liam and I are going somewhere and I don't want him to be late.''
''He wont be late. Liam cares about you and would never do that to you, especially on his wedding day.'' Her sweet motherly tone always calms me down. And before I knew it, all insecurities that were overwhelming me were gone.
''I know, I just want everything to be perfect.'' It's the day that every girl dreams of, it's my day. A layer of anxiety has been resting on my shoulders for days, and it just won't go away.
''Brooke, nothing is ever perfect. I've told you this.''
''Yeah. I'm just stressed.''
''I was too on my wedding day. Your father was a good man before he left me, but that didn't stop me from raising my child. And I'm sure if your father was here and in his right mind- he would agree.''
My father and my mom were madly in love, they knew each other their entire lives. My mom got pregnant with me about a year after the got married and they were both ecstatic.
Unfortunately, my father lost his parents a few months before I was born and became an alcoholic. Everyone has their vice, he just depended on his.
Once I was born, my father had been verbally abusive towards my mom. She wouldn't tolerate it and made sure he knew that.
I guess one day he was just so angry he left. He left and never came back.
''Mom, can we have this conversation later?'' I don't want negative thoughts that feed off my hatred for that man to ruin my day.
''Sure. I want you to pay close attention to this day, Its a day you wont forget.''
''I will.''
''So, where are you and Liam going?''
''No where, we're just going to hang out. He hasn't said where."
"Ohh gotcha. Well stay out of trouble and be safe." I'm fully aware it's totally taboo for the groom to see the bride before the wedding, but we just couldn't help ourselves.
"I will. Okay mom, I don't want to be late so I'm going to go."
''Bye, I love you.''
"I love you too." I say to her before hanging up the phone.
To calm my nerves, I play my favorite music. Tapping my finger on the steering wheel, I hum to the tune. I can't keep my mind off the wedding and honeymoon, I can't wait for it all to happen. Liam is amazing and kind. His brown hair, grey eyes, and tan skin gives me butterflies.
As I'm pulling in the driveway, I see Liam leaning against his car. I get out of my car and slowly walk up to him, falling in a trance with his eyes. He is so cute. Getting closer, he reaches out his arms and snakes them around my waist, pulling me into his chest.
"Are you ready?" He asks, reaching down to leave a quick, but sweet, kiss on my lips.
"Almost. Let me go change." I say pulling away from his embrace. He removes his hands from my waist as I back away, then grabs my hand with his own. As if I am going to fly away.
"Don't be too long."
"I wont be." I say, looking up at him.
I start to walk inside, but I turn to look back at him right before I open the door. He winks at me, and I smile back before walking inside.
A few minutes later I walk back out. He smiles, and I laugh.
''What are you smiling at?'' I ask him, smiling as well.
"You." All I do is blush.
"Are you ready to go?" He asks smirking. A knowing smile of the effect he has on me. So I only nod.
Together we walk over to his car, and he opens the door for me. After I sit down, he shuts the door and walks around to the drivers side of the car and gets in his-self. He then leans across my lap to get my seat belt, and he buckles me up before I can do it myself.
Such a gentleman. I think to myself.
The car ride is spent in silence, but it's a good silence. Nice, quiet, peaceful. It is calming.
Within five minutes, we arrive at our destination. A park. I turn to him and opened my mouth to talk, but he quickly stops me from talking by smashing my lips against his. Together, we move our lips in a pattern. We fill the kiss with passion, we put every ounce of emotion we have for each other into the kiss.
Eventually we broke a part. Warmth fills my cheeks. He clearly isn't as fazed as I am.
I turn and look out the window, avoiding his heavy glaze. I smile to myself before reaching my hand up and running my fingers across my lips, which were still tingling from the kiss.
I feel his hand come up and cup my face, turning my head to face him.
''You're beautiful." He whispers to me.
If possible, my face gets even redder. "Thanks." He laughs softy at my embarrassment.
"Are you excited?"
"Yes." I sigh. "But I am also nervous."
"Is it weird that I'm not nervous?"
"Uh, a little bit. How are you not nervous?" I question him.
"Because, at the end of the day I know you will still love me. No matter what happens- I will still love you, and you will still love me." Tears then start to pool in my eyes. "I've been ready for this day since the day I first laid eyes on you in science class, Junior year. That was the day I knew I found the love of my life, I just knew that one day you would be mine. I always told myself the day I saw you in white would be the best day of my life." He continues. "I love you with everything I am." Liam finishes.
By this point, I am full blown crying. "Are you sure you want to be with me for the rest of your life? Forever?" I ask him. Hearing this he grabs my face in his hands and stares at me in the eyes with so much emotion.
"If you'll have me." He says sheepishly.
"Do you really mean it?" I ask looking up at him.
''I mean it Brooke. I promise you, I want to be with you forever. Forever and even after that. I'm not going anywhere and you don't have a choice. If one day you decide you want me gone, you'll just have to get over it. I will never leave you." I don't even respond, I just kiss him. And he immediately kisses me back. We put everything into the kiss. All those years of love and promise are put into that one kiss.
"I love you so much Liam, So much." I whisper once I break away.
"And I love you." He says before capturing my lips once again with his own.
A few hours later we arrived back at my house, a quick kiss goodbye and I am gone. I have a wedding to prepare for.
Smiling, I make my way inside to wait for Hillary, my best friend.
Soon enough she arrives at my house. "Are you coming or what?" She hollers."
"I'm coming, you're acting like it's your wedding day."I respond in a jokingly manner.
