Insane and in Love~ (Eren X Reader X Armin)

Prologue

Living behind Wall Maria in the Shinganshina District was calming. You were able to spend time with friends and family. You had a great life so far, until that fateful day...... When Wall Maria fell.

In just one day, you lost everything in your life. Your friends, your family and your manga. This left you as the last member of the (L/N) family.

On that same day you swore you weren't going to live life safe anymore.

Before the fall~

You were having a great time hanging out with your friends- Eren Jaeger, Armin Arlert, and Mikasa Ackerman- in your town in the Shinganshina District. It was a warm, sunny day, and you and your friends were enjoying the nice weather together. Mikasa had just saved Armin from some bullies (though Eren insists he was the one to scare them away). The four of you were sitting by the river, talking about the future.

"They were attacking me because I said we needed to go out of the walls at some point," Armin explained. "Then Eren showed up, and yelled to leave me alone. They basically started laughing their asses off, until Mikasa arrived. They took one look at her and ran off. Apparently they were more afraid of Mikasa than Eren (no offense Eren, but you're not exactly threatening, even when you're angry). Me, Eren, and Mikasa started walking out of the alley, and that's where you come in, (Y/N). That's about it."

You nod along to Armin's story, listening carefully as he recounts what happened. When he reached the part where he was being beaten up, you internally started fuming with anger.

How dare they hurt him!, you think. How dare they hurt any of my friends! If I ever see one of those bastards, I swear I'll-

"(Y/N)? What do you think?" Eren asked, interrupting your thoughts.

"Huh?" You snap back to reality, and made a confused expression. "Sorry, I was thinking about something and couldn't hear you. What'd you say?"

Eren scoffed lightly, and said, "Mikasa told my parents that I wanted to join the Survey Corps, and I got in trouble." He turns to Mikasa. "I hope you're happy. I still don't see why you think it's such-"

"Because it's a stupid idea, and you're going to get yourself killed!" Mikasa snapped.

"So? It's my life, I should be allowed to join the military if I want to. My parents can't stop me forever from joining the military, and I will join, no matter what!" Eren sighed. "I just want to see what's on the other side of the wall. No one knows or cares to find out, and the only people who do are the Survey Corps. Now, that leads me back to my original question for (Y/N)." Eren shifts so he can face you. "(Y/N), what do you think? Do you want to join the military too, and see what's out there, or stay in here, like her," Eren turns and glares briefly at Mikasa, "and be forever content inside these walls. Like a caged bird."

You open your mouth to respond, but before you can the ground starts to tremble and shake. Tiles are falling off of the surrounding houses, and you and your friends fall to the ground, struggling to get up.

By the time you get to your feet, the ground has already stopped. You and your friends run to the town square with everyone else to see what happened.

Was that an earthquake?, you think while following close behind your friends. You stop in an area with a clear view of the gates. The town square is full of people, pointing and shouting, they were all staring at the top of the wall. When you do the same, you feel your heart sink. The hands and head of an enormous titan are visible, peeking over the top of the wall.

Screams of terror fill the air, and you can hear each individual's panicked voice.

"What the fuck is that thing!?" a voice yells.

"Why is there a titan standing over the wall!?" another questions.

"Aren't they supposed to be shorter?" a different voice points out.

All of a sudden, the voices go dead silent as a loud noise rings across the square.

THUD. THUD. THUD. CR-UNCH!

The last thing you remember clearly is the titan's foot kicking the wall, causing smaller pieces of the wall to fly across the sky, landing on houses and the bystanders who were watching the terrible scene in front of them.

Flashes of the memories appear in your mind: the gate breaking, smaller titans pouring in, people running and shoving each other to get away. You and the gang started running away, but got separated in the confusion. You were alone, with titans roaming the streets. Looking around and realizing your friends weren't there, you decide to run back to your house to make sure your family escaped to safety. As you run, you could see houses in flames and the monsters gorging themselves on the people you used to call 'neighbors'.

Finally, you make it home, only to be greeted by the same sight you had passed many times on the way: the house on fire, blood smeared everywhere, and a titan eating your family alive. A lone titan is holding your younger sibling in one hand, biting off their legs, while your mom in its other hand screaming for mercy, until she is finally silenced with her head being bit off. You stand and watch, helplessly, until you can't stand it anymore, throwing up on the side of the road. You started running away from the place you used to call 'home'.

After that, your memory starts getting hazy. You can't remember getting on a boat to safety, so you assume someone helped you.

You never were quite the same after that. Maybe from the trauma of seeing a supposedly safe place crumble, or from watching your family being eaten alive. Either way, your mind snapped, sanity gone. You knew you weren't going to be the same after that.

You were going to change. A good or bad change, who knows? All you knew was that you were going to try and live a life you won't regret. A life you can be proud of, and remembered by as someone important.
