I tried to act like I didn't notice the complete stranger, walking over to my table. When he arrived at the table, I looked up at him like I had no idea he was coming. "Hey," I said, not knowing what to do. I could just imagine Skyland hiding behind a bush right now, watching our every move. I could tell he wasn't over here because of what happened earlier, with my panic attack. "Hey, I'm Jordan." He gave a shy smile, but a real one. I simply smiled back, not breaking eye contact. He kind of raised his eyebrow, putting me back in touch with reality. "Oh! I'm Avery, sorry about that," I said, with a sheepish smile.
I looked behind him, to see Skyland kind of motioning that she would be over there, leaving us behind to talk. He saw I was staring at something behind him, and turned to see an embarrassed Skyland, who then scurried off, leaving me a wink.
"That's your friend, right?" I gave him a nod. "Mind if I sit down?" he asked. "Sure," I said back.
First he asked me how old I was, and I said I was twenty. "I'm twenty-one," he replied back. We kept talking back and forth, until I noticed some people pointing at us and talking. He saw that I was looking behind him (again) so he turned back and shot them a glare. "Those are my friends, they brought me here." I smiled back. "Hey, here's my number, before I leave," he said. I saw his "friends" start to giggle.
I looked into his deep green pools, and realized he was staring into mine. After what seemed like forever, he finally smiled, and left to walk with his friends. I smiled back, of course.
I left, looking for my friend. After about twenty minutes, I found her, where I assumed she would be: JCPenny. "How did it go??" She asked. "Fine, just small talk, he gave me his number." She smiled and let out a shriek. Which earned us more stares then we were already getting from the incident earlier.
I smiled back, but I couldn't stop thinking about how it felt like there was something... connecting us. Like I knew him personally, already. I don't know.
I let my hair out of the ponytail. My light blond hair was somehow straight, where it was normally wavy. My hair stretched past my belly button. I put my galaxy hat back on (I lived that hat so much. I put his number in the pocket of my hoodie, then pulled my phone out of the back pocket of my skinny jeans. I was really proud of my outfit that day.
I checked the time, and it was only 4:25. As I was walking, I tripped on my shoelace, so I went to tie my white converse. As I bent down to tie my shoe, I saw Jordan walk by, about ten feet away. I waved, but felt a breath taking pain in my arm, from where I was shot seven years ago. I winced in pain, my face getting bright pink. He ran towards me, asking if I was alright. "I'm fine, I just bent my arm in a weird position." He gave a concerned smile, bury knew he didn't believe me.
He held out a hand to help me up. I thanked him. "Anytime." He then gave me a really brief but discreet kiss on the forehead. I guess he noticed my face getting really red again, so he shot me a smirk, as if to say "hahah!"Me being me, I rolled my eyes at him, but smirked back.
I couldn't help but notice that Skyland had met one of his friends, and they were getting along, too.
We left about an hour later, then she told me that she exchanged numbers with the boy she was talking to earlier. "His name is Devin." I smiled back at her.
She dropped me off, and my dogs were at the door to welcome me back. Today was an odd day, but a good one.*************************************
Ok so yeah I don't know how any of the exchange numbers and stuff goes so IM SORRY if I got that wrong. Anyway so yeah I got the meet and greet taken care of between Avery and Jordan :P but this chapter was fun to writexD ok well I'm NOT FINISHED so yes I will probably update later today.
