What Now!

The house was set back slightly from the road. What garden there was had been left to get overgrown and grass was matted across the slabbed pathway that led to the front door. There were a couple of steps up to a porch. They could not see the door itself, as it was in shadow. But the dim glow from the nearest street lamp glinted on the broken glass of the window above the door.

There were two large bay windows on each of the two floors of the house. All of them had at least one broken pane, and the window to the left of the door was boarded up with plywood. A small window above the porch was the only one that remained intact. With the steps leading up to the porch cracked across so they looked like teeth, the empty bay windows of the upper storey were like the dark eyes of a skull. Missing tiles on the roof gave texture to what looked like the remnants of hair.

“Oh, by the way my name is Emma,” and I want to go inside of this creepy old house to see if what my friends are telling me, is real or not. I need to find out if it’s haunted or not, but in my opinion, I think they are just joking around to make me scared. My friends tell me that it’s haunted and that anyone that enters does not ever come out again. So tomorrow night I’m going to go in that old creepy house and I will be walking out of it.

As it is 7:45pm I grab an apple and a bottle of water and put it in my bag, I get changed into some warmer clothes and off I went. Walking slowly down the road till I have to turn, I turn down the street the old house is and I walk for 45 minutes and I find the creepy house. I was relieved to find the house. I stop to have a think on if I wanted to go straight in or to just wait and then go in, I choose to wait and then go in, and so I waited an hour.

As it felt like my feet  were carrying me up the slabbed pathway to the door I started to have a flashback and a voice in my head saying, “The house that is overgrown, DO NOT ENTER, it is dangerous, it is haunted”.  My stomach is telling me not to enter but my brain is telling me to go in. What should I do, a random voice coming from nowhere said, “YOU SHOULD ENTER”. I don’t know if I want to go in or not, that voice sounded scary.

I started to walk very slowly into the house, it creaked. It was dreadful inside, it was pitch black I could not see a thing, but I kept walking. As I was walking forward, a little light turned on and there was a staircase at the end of the house. I looked around and I saw a couch that was shrivelled up and destroyed and it was torn apart.

I looked around to see if anyone was there but I couldn’t see anyone, so I yelled out “ANYBODY HOME”. No one replied so I kept walking and decided to walk up the staircase. There were missing steps and some broke when I stood on them. When I finally got to the top of the staircase I looked around once again to see if anyone was there, but still couldn’t see anyone.

As I walked around to see where else I could go, I found 3 rooms. I slowly walked down the little hallway, there was a bathroom at the end of the hallway. I walked in and there was a bath, toilet and a sink. There were a couple of towels on the towel rack. As I walked around the bathroom, I looked in the bath and screamed, there was a dead human in the bath.  I looked again, and It was still there, I screamed again, not realizing that there were two dead human bodies. I screamed until I passed-out.

When I woke up, I found myself lying in the middle of the bathroom floor. There was nothing different in the bathroom, other than the bodies weren’t there. I stormed out of the bathroom and went looking for the next room. The next room was a bedroom, there was a walk in robe, I looked inside the walk in robe and there were more dead human bodies. There were 3 shelves, 1 dead body on each one. The rest of the robe was empty. My stomach sunk, I screamed and ran out of the room.

As I was running to the next room, it was an empty room, all I could see was dead bodies, everywhere I went. “THEY WERE EVERYWHERE”, I screamed. I looked in the next room and there was someone in there, as I walked closer, it got bigger. Whatever it was it wasn’t a human. I kept walking forward and then realized that I was seeing things.

I walked out and went to the next room which the door locked as soon as I tried to turn the door knob. I stepped back and shock it off and walked forward again and turned the knob, it opened. I walked in and looked around and something touched me, I twitched and acted like I didn’t feel a thing. As I kept walking around I found a mirror, I was looking in the mirror and saw somebody standing next to me, but when I looked around there was nothing, so I walked out of the room and it felt like it was following me down the hall. As it followed me everywhere I was guessing that it wanted me to leave but I refuse to leave.

When I was walking down the staircase I had that same flashback, the same one when I was about to enter the house. I now know who yelled out “YOU SHOULD ENTER”, it was that ghost that was following me everywhere. I thought to myself that what my friends told me is true. I feel so bad for not believing them. The next minute I got a phone call, I answer it, “Hello, speaking”. No one answered so I hung up. I opened my bag and got a drink and ate my apple. In the next 10 minutes I got another phone call, “Hello”. Someone replied saying, “GET OUT OF MY HOUSE”, said a creepy voice. I screamed. I ran out of the house and never entered again. I screamed all the way home, “MY FRIENDS WERE RIGHT”, “ARRRRRRRRRRRRR”. I would not stop even if I tripped. I got home and told my parents and didn’t sleep for nights. I went through so much trouble for the next couple of weeks saying, “I AM NEVER EVER EVER GOING TO ENTER THAT HOUSE EVER EVER AGAIN”.
