I spent the whole weekend at Sandra's house. Her mom loves having me over on the weekends because they usually go out to their lake house.
I readjust my pillow trying to make myself comfortable. I stare at the ceiling fan dangling above my bed.
My phone buzzes, it's a incoming call from Sandra.
"Hey, don't forget to bring my purple jacket to school tomorrow."
"Okay, do you have any plans tomorrow? If not do you want to come to softball practice with me?"
"No I'm not busy. Sure, I'll come. I need practice anyway."
"Okay, talk to you later."
I hung up the phone. I walked over I my closet and grabbed Sandra's jacket. I places it on my desk so I don't forget it in the morning. At least with it on my desk I'll see it in the morning.
----
"Jace, have you talked to your mom lately?"
"Not really, on Saturday she called to check up but that was about all." He stayed concentrated on his video games. Guys and their video games.
"Oh. When is she coming back?" I asked fiddling with the seem of my tee shirt.
He paused his game. Wow that was a surprise. "Trying to get rid of me Chandler?" He glanced at me.
"If course that is what I am trying to do. Your presence is simply annoying me." I giggled under my breath.
Jace chuckled then returned to his game. He kept a smile propped on his face. He looks so cute when he smiles. His golden eyes glance back and forth over the screen.
I glance around the guest room. He sure did make himself at home. His band posters all over the walls. It gives the room his special touch. I would probably do the same thin if I was staying with him.
"I never knew you played softball."
"Wait, how did you find out I did?" I turned my head to him, feeling slightly confused.
"Oh I overheard you talking on the phone early today. I was eavesdropping just walking by and heard you ask if she wanted to go to practice with you." He fiddled his fingers on the controller.
"Oh, well yeah I do play softball. I have since I was eight. Sandra just joined two years ago. She's not playing this season though."
"Hope I get to go to one of your games and cheer you up someday." He kept his gaze on the screen but outstretched and arm to pat me on my head.
