Amber was sleeping in her bed, which looked a lot worse than it actually was, she woke up naturally early, yet was no early bird, she woke up at about 6:30 today. She put on a Gucci button-down that she had bought with some money that she got in her parents will. She was surprisingly rich to be a care kid, her parents were very rich and as they only had one child all of their money went to her. She also put on a pair of white trousers to counteract the black of the shirt, as well as a pair of red flags to give a pop of color. Amber also put on a bit of concealer for her dark circles that she always got, and also put on some lip gloss to add a bit of color to her complexion. Amber ran out into the living room where there was no breakfast on the table. Amber had learnt that she was still a care kid, even if she wasn't living in care, "Here goes," Amber said to herself, mentally preparing herself to start cooking a breakfast for three people in under 20 minutes, somebody was in the shower, the boy, whom she had figured out was called Franklin, or Frankie, as most people called him, was likely still asleep and Mr Townsend has likely left for work already.  Amber started to do what she usually did, a bunch of omelettes with some ham and coriander. She also set about preparing toast, and placed butter, both kinds of milk and other breakfast essentials, including knives a forks, on the table.

About ten minutes after Amber had finished preparing everything, Frankie came into the room quite casually before (quite literally) dropping his bag on the floor with surprise, "So, do you like it?"
"I love it." Frankie said quietly, taking in all that the girl that he had known for under 24 hours had done for him and his family. "Wait, how did you know that my dad left early for work?"
"Easy really, your mum was in the shower, no I didn't look, I heard, and as there was no other noise in the house other than your snoring..."
"I don't snore!" Frankie said, although he seemed rather flustered.
"Well sorry to break your bubble, but you do. Anyway as there were no other noises, it didn't take a detective to figure out that there were only two other people in the house." Amber motioned to Frankie to sit down, and he started eating like there was no tomorrow, Amber however, was taking her time and made sure to be as polite as possible. Mrs. Townsend had come into the room too late to see what Amber had done, but was surprised nonetheless, she ate all that was on her plate, before leaving quickly whilst muttering to herself about not letting Frankie be too annoying.

After they had finished breakfast, Amber placed all of the plates into the dishwasher whilst Frankie placed the food back into its respective cupboard. "And... Done," Frankie said to himself about ten minutes after Amber had finished loading the dishwasher. "Look, Amber, we have to go or we'll be late."
"Ok, I'll just be a second." Inbetween making breakfast and loading the dishwasher, Amber had somehow mmanaged to pack all of her school supplies into her Valentino backpack and had left a book, in Ancient Greek (partly because Amber, even though she had dyslexia, could read better in Ancient Greek and partly because why not seem super-clever if you can) right next to her backpack, ready to leave at a moments notice. She picked everything up, adjusting her backpack straps to fit her comfortably and then picking up her book Science In The Dimensions. "Let's go." Amber said, as Frankie led the way down halls, taking the lift in the left, where a boy, with dark blond hair and hazel eyes, and a girl, with long black hair and Asian features, were already standing. "So Frankie, introductions s'il vous plaît." The girl said, in utterly perfect English.
"Chill Ash, I'm on my way... Anyway, Ashley, Hank, this is Amber, and Amber, these two numbskulls are Ashley and Hank," Frankie received a hit upside the head for that one, but apparently "It was worth it."

Amber was surprised to hear that they walked to school on their own, and Ashley was surprised to see that Amber had a Valentino backpack, and that she used it so casually. They eventually got to school, which was way less fancy than Amber's old school, and definitely a lot smaller. After Amber's assessment of the school, Frankie and Hank took her to the office, where she got her schedule, and both boys were glad that she had no classes without at least on of the boys. They took her to hometown, where a girl called Elizabetta said that Ambers bag was "Most definitely a fake, what kind of care kid could afford a real one," Amber however, didn't react, which highly surprised Frankie, as even just knowing the girl for a few hours was enough to tell him that she wasn't one to stand down, "Well, you see, I know that my bag is real Valentino, and if you choose to ignore that and think that no care kid can have luxuries, well, that's your problem, not mine." Amber had made it a point of hers to be as nice as possible to everyone, and even though she hadn't really tried to make Elizabetta hate her, it was a lot easier than it looked. After home room, Amber had some classes with Hank and after that a few classes with Frankie and Ashley. It was all completely fine until history, when the teacher decided to give everyone a project to work on, it was to do with the Second World War, a topic which didn't really interest Amber other than the Enigma Machine, a code that was deemed impossible to crack. Amber was happy about this, but she hadn't heard the end of it, "This project will affect your grade, it will be done in pairs." Amber turned to Hank, ready to ask him if they wanted to partner up, but he had already paired up with a girl called Zoë. A boy was I front of Amber, and even though he didn't look very friendly, first impressions can be deceiving, plus, he was cute. "Hello, um... Do you want to work together?" Amber asked the boy. He turned around and smiled.
"Definitely, so what do you want to work on?"
"Well in all honesty I find the Second World War really boring, apart from all the code breaking involved, that, I find cool."
"Nice. So, do you want to do our project about the enigma machine, I find that the coolest bit."
"Awesome, by the way, are there any books in Ancient Greek in the library? I know it sounds weird but I find it easier to read and write like that, rather than in normal English."
"Well in all honesty that does sound pretty weird, and I'm not sure that the library has any books in Ancient Greek, but I have quite a large library at home, do you want to come over tonight and we can look into it?"
"Sweet, by the way, what your name, last name and phone number, I don't really know if I can make it."
"Oh, okay, anyway, my name is Nick." Amber gasped, maybe that's why the boy looked so familiar, the boy might be her brother. No, he can't be, he's dead. Amber pushed the thought of her deceased family members out of her mind and focused, "Last name?" She asked.
"Yeah um, it's McKelty." The words came out of his mouth simply, Amber dropped the pen she was holding, her breathing became quick, rugged. "Brother." She breathes out, before collapsing to the ground, having fainted.

Amber awoke to the beeping of a pulse monitor, and the chatter of voices, some calm, some worried, some downright obnoxious. "Hello," Amber called out nervously. The first person to notice her awakening was Nick, her brother.
"What happened back there? I said my last name, you whisper 'brother' and then you faint? What just happened?" He sounded distressed, worried even, and Amber decided to reply.
"I had a brother, he was slightly older than me, he was called Nick McKelty." Nick was about to give her a sarcastic answer, but gave it more thought. Why would she lie about something like this? It did make sense, he was in a car crash once, when he was little, his sister, slightly younger than him, was the only one that hadn't survived.
"I'm not lying. Promise." The voice sounded like his mother, calm, yet in charge and dominant. "Okay, the plan for my house is still on I'll get my, sorry our dad to take us."
"Okay." Was all Amber managed to say, before yet again falling asleep.
