Carmen POV
Waking up, I go have breakfast without really having the mood for it. Everything taste the same to me. I see that Crystal doesn't have the mood for anything. The scrambled eggs with waffles and strawberries taste like nothing.
As Serena dresses me up into a simple jacket that is supposed to reflect heat in the day and absorb heat in the night. It is paired with simple pants and shirt. After I'm dressed, Serena ties my hair into a simple ponytail and then braids it. After that, I'm brought to inject the tracker into my wrist. That way, they will always know where am I.
"Stay still. That way, it's easier for me to inject the tracker." The lady with the syringe says to me. Before I know it, she injects the syringe into my wrist. It stings for a moment before it doesn't. Now they can always track me.
Finally, I'm greeted by Serena which nags at me to eat as the Games are starting in an hour. I eat to my heart's content for I know that once I'm in the Games, there's no unlimited supply if food. Or water. I drink water until I feel that that's all I need.
Later, Serena neatens up my hair and gives me a locket. I had always had that locket since I was a little child.
"It's your district gift, right?" Serena asks me.
I nod and she tells me to open it. Inside of it is a full picture of my family. With Clifford and my Dd. Somehow, it smells like Strawberries.
"I took it in the morning. Then, I sprayed some perfume on it. It's super strong and will last for a long time." Serena tells me.
I hug her as Serena tells me to get into the tube. There are about to lift me up to the arena. I raise my head up high, just like Katniss did when she was in the games. Then, I feel the metal plate below me rise up.
As I see the cornucopia, it is on a meadow. It is really beautiful. But as I look around, the meadow actually connected 12 different sceneries. The sceneries are based off of the 12 Districts and what they give to the Capitol. There is also a Capitol scenery with lots of colours. I think it's for the Capitol boys to run to. I silently remind myself not to go there as there could be hidden dangers lurking.
Just as I'm looking around, I hear Claudius Templesmith's voice boom in the air.
"Ladies and Gentlemen, let the 100th Hunger Games begin!"
As he speaks, I position myself to run towards the Cornucopia. My eyes are focused on the twelve knives and that silver bow and the shealth of arrows. I just need one of them. And I'm aiming at the bow. I see Crystal two spokes away. She's eyeing the sword and the knives.
As it counts down, I hear the final number and I take off. I see that I'm quite fast and manages to get a backpack and my archer set. I see a Capitol boy and take him down with a arrow. He's dead before I can even grab my throwing knives. I manage to get both my desired weapons as I see Lux fighting Thimble from District 7. Thimble has an axe while Lux only has a spear. Thimble has disarmed Lux and is about to deal the final blow when I shoot an arrow at her heart. It punctures through her skin and she falls to the ground, dead.
Lux and I go and find Crystal who is apparently fighting for a backpack with a District 5 girl. I kill her off and Crystal gets her backpack. We decide to take off to District 10 where they specialize in Lifestock. There could be easy food there. We climb trees and split our supplies from our backpacks.
In mine, there are dried fruit, night vision googles, a empty water bottle, a first aid kit and a sleeping bag. For weapons, I got my bow and arrows with my dozen knives.
In Crystal's, there is a few packs of dried beef jerky, a empty water bottle, a blow dart gun with a dozen darts. She got a sword and ten knives.
From Lux's backpack, he gets ropes, berries, a bottle of iodine to purify water, a bag of apples and some crackers. He got a spear for weapons.
