The year is 2057. About 10 years ago after a record number of deaths and injuries due to alcohol the government decided to push the prohibition reinstatement act of 2050.
At the time this law was passed Rosalyn Day was eleven years old with an alcoholic as a father. Needless to say her family took it hard. She spent many nights at her aunt May's house while her mother went to pick up her father from the police station.
Eventually he stepped over the line and was sent to prison when Rose was 15. The minute she turned sixteen she started working to help pay bills in her fathers absence.
Now at age eighteen she lives and works on her own in a bad part of town and sends most of the money she earns to her depressed mother.
What happens when she encounters Harry Styles, one of the most well known criminals in america, one who lives and breathes in alcohol.
