Remember, when you have a light it can go out at anytime. That's what happened to me I had a light and one minute it was bright and wouldn't let anyone blow it out. The next minute it was gone and I had to learn how to live in the darkness.

Yeah yeah you probably want to know what my name is. To that I respond it's Grace Jackson. I am a 17 year old female who had her light taken away. No I don't mean a literal light I mean the one that was making life bearable. His name was Jasper Lee until the accident.

Jasper was perfect it all started on January 7, 2014. "Do I have to go?" I ask my mom desperately not wanting to go to Raleigh to see my father. "Yes dear your father hasn't seen you in four years and he is dying to meet you again"

"Yeah right then why did he leave?" I ask "it's complicated" my mum responds. So I'm stupid? Whenever she talks about my father it's "too complicated for me to ever understand" yeah because him being a freeloading cheating bastard is too complicated for me to even somewhat comprehend. It was a nine hour drive to the place I agreed to meet him and I went alone but with a handgun in my backseat just in case. I also had $10,000 to last me for three months or more but I had to be back when I ran out of money or I could get a job. I kinda feel like she is just giving herself an excuse to not feel bad about making me leave. However I think I'll do fine after all I do have $10,000 and a handgun with 42 bullets, you know the answer to the life universe and everything. I met my father at the science museum and everything was the exact same, he was still a cheating bastard that looks like he was homeless and has been that way since he left my mom for a skinny blonde bitch. She was a supermodel that only liked him for his money and by looking at him you would guess is $12 even though he is like a millionaire that lives in his new wife's manchin. It doesn't matter how much money he had he will always be a bum. "Hi are you john?" I ask which is the name of my father. "Yeah are you Grace?" "Yeah hi dad if I can still call you that" I respond in a snarky tone. "Of course you can sweetie" he said in a tone that I found condescending. "I don't want you to call me "sweetie" and I also don't wanna call you "dad" so I'm not going to."I started to walk away as he grabbed at my arm. "Come on you don't have anywhere to go after all you have failed that's why I left your mother because she and I produced a failure child" he said as I start to tear up because that is what i have been told all my life and I know that i is true but I would never admit that to him. "No I'm not fuck you and i hope to never see you again."

I started running because I know that he can't catch up to me at his obvious state of drunkenness. 'I can't be that bad so he has to be drunk to even see me. But I am' I tell myself pulling down my sleeves that were partially up because John pulled them up and hinted at my cuts earlier. He's right because of this terrible habit I have of self harming has rendered me useless. At this time it started raining so I sit on a bus bench and wait. I don't even know what I am waiting for, all I know is that I am waiting. This is so cliche, I'm sitting here in the rain crying. It's kinda pitiful if i'm being honest. Then something totally unexpected happened and a hot guy appeared and it was like I was in a movie only if in the movie the girl was ugly and depressed and didn't deserve a guy to sweep her off of her feet. The mystery guy could probably see that I wasn't worth his time just by looking at me.

He is absolutely beautiful, he has long black emo hair and even though you can barely see his eyes they were a beautiful color of blue that you could get lost in. He look like he came out of an anime except he was real and very skinny and very pale. He held out an umbrella so we were both under it. "Hi my name is Jasper Lee, What's your name?" "G-Grace Jackson" I stutter. "Oh sorry am I intruding? I just saw you and you looked so cute in the rain and I thought you might want an umbrella." He said with his adorable deep voice.

"Umm no it's fine and why would someone as hot as you ever think someone as ugly as me is cute?"

"What do you mean you are so cute even though your makeup is smeared" he said as he wiped a tear that was still on my cheek from when I was crying. I have to admit I was still crying but not in anguish anymore but from shock and joy that this guy thought I was worth the time of day to help.

"So where are you going?" he asked me in the most polite tone to make it seem like he wasn't being stalkerish and I have to admit it's kinda cute the way that he talks or the way that he seems to care. "I don't really know. I just got here and I am looking for a house that I can be in for a while." When I said it I sort of mumbled so I was surprised to say the least that he answered me. "You can stay at my place for tonight if you want I have a 2 story house but I live by myself it would be nice to have someone to keep me company."

"Sure do you have a car?"

"No I walked here and I was just walking around because I like the rain"

"Oh well you can drive my car if you want back to your house or you can give me directions on how to get to your house." I said as I dug through my bag to give him my keys. "Oh yeah sure thanks so much I live about a block away. So where is your car?" he asks as I shove my keys into his hands with the correct one for my car on the top. "Just down there follow me." I gesture to where I had left my car and stood up as he handed me his umbrella that I was already under.

"Thanks"

"No prob bob. So what kind of car do you have?"

"Oh it's nothing fancy just a 4-door"

"Cool"

It was very quiet for the rest of the way to the car, but it wasn't an awkward silence it was just a peaceful silence as we listened to the soft pitter patter of the rain on the umbrella I reached over and grabbed his hand then smiled. 'Life is amazing' I thought to myself until we got in the car.

"This is a nice car grace" He said then opened the passenger side of the door like a true gentleman. I laughed at this act seeing as it is my own car that he just tried and failed at opening the door because he was oblivious to the fact that the doors were locked.

"Good job Roxie"

"Who's Roxie?"

"She was just my bunk-mate when I was in middle school because I went to a boarding school. She would always do that when she finally got a car because her mom's car didn't lock so she was used to it opening automatically."

"Oh sounds like a cool chick"

"Yeah she was and we actually used to date but my parents never knew"

"So you're gay?" He asked looking disappointed

"No I'm straight but she was my exception"

"Oh sweet" you could see his eyes light up when I said that I was straight. He started the car and no one else was really around mostly because at this time it was about 2 in the morning and raining. "Hey do you mind if I run a few errands while I have your car?" he said with a beautiful melody to his voice. "Umm no it's fine as long as I can go with you" I looked down at his hand then back up to his face hoping he would take a hint that I wanted to hold his hand again. His face was the other direction so I didn't think he would pick up on my subtle hints. Then we left and on the way to the first place that we were going to I was playing on my phone with my right hand and I had my left in between the two of us. He quickly without looking to me took hold of my hand. I looked up at him and smiled in conformation that that was the right thing.
