Scarlet's POV:
Oh my god, I can't believe I'm doing this. I'm finally running away. I've wasted so much time in that hellhole some people refer to as home.
I'm glad I'm away from my abusive mother and detached father. I'm free!
I'm feeling complete bliss right now. I keep running and breathing in the fresh air.
Once I'm finally far enough I stop. I'm in the middle of an unfamiliar forest. I decided it's best to set up the tent I brought and camp the night out so I can continue my journey far away.
Once I set up the tent I got in and slid into the sleeping bag I set up. I snuggled into it and started to drift off into a peaceful slumber.

------------------------------------------------

I wake up to hear a twig snap. I have to be on high alert considering my mother will be looking for me.
I'm snapped out of my thoughts to see a shadowed figure approaching the tent. I begin to cry thinking that this could be my mother.
The shadowed figure opens the tent and invites themselves in. The shadowed figure turns out to be a boy around 16, the same age as me.
I continue to cry while experiencing mixed emotions. I was safe from my mother but I can't feel 100% safe with this boy inside my tent. What if my mother sent him.
He noticed me crying, gave me a worried look and engulfed me in a sympathetic hug.
Usually I wouldn't take hugs from anyone (let alone a stranger), but considering how emotionally vulnerable I am, I accept.
Finally when I gather myself together I ask a logical question I should have asked the minute he got here. "Who are you?" I said. "I'm Peter-Peter Pan" he simply replied.
