We did not die in vain

If we did not spill blood

Like birds shot from flight

We did not die in vain

We did not die in vain

If our plight was fought

We are warriors of the sun

We will not be pushed around

We did not die in vain

Our battles won

We fought the rebellion

And followed beyond

Into the sunset

Our blood stained red

The sky itself

Our warring palette

At last the dawn turned to night

Our lives alight

Their swords poised

And at last we fell

To white light

A thousand years pass

Our legend is immortal

They talk of our mass

Like myths in story

But who were we?

Who fought all those years ago

We were the defeated

The lost

The broken

We are the rebellious ones

The ones who never came home

We were the ones we cried out in pain

We did not die in vain
