You lye there motionless as your heartbeat grows louder with every sound. You even stop your breathing for a while just to listen for it again. You hear it. You quickly turn on your back and glance from each side of the room to the other in jolting motions. Your arms go weak and you feel as if you are being held down by someone. A deep and quick breathe escapes and you think you hear the creak again. This time it is closer. Much closer. You finally decide to turn onto your side and try to go to sleep. After a few long minutes past you try to force yourself to come up with a rational explanation. The heavy feeling waves over you much stronger than before and you convince yourself it's just the house settling and you slowly but surely drift into a deep slumber. As you sleep soundly, it appears. The tall shadow man stands at your doorway with nothing but a cheek to cheek smile carved into his face. That explanation etched into your brains, "the house settling," is just the shadow-man tunneling his way into your head so you can go to sleep and he can...well no one knows. You just disappear with no trace whatsoever of your whereabouts.
