The familiar tingling of the bell reached his ears.
"Welcome!" a female employee greeted the customer.
Kageyama was sitting on one of the cafe's chairs while reading an issue of Volleyball Monthly before taking the cup of coffee to drink from it.
After taking a sip, the ravenette glanced at the other ghouls he considered as his friends.
There was Hinami and her mother, Tsukishima had his girlfriend put a bracelet around his wrist and the rest of his friends looked like they enjoyed each other's company which made a small smile flash on his face and widened as the manager of Anteiku entered the scene who returned a smile.
"What are you scheming Kageyama?" Hinata suspiciously glared at him after seeing the smile and almost fell off his seat when Kageyama smiled at him. "I-I'm too young to die K-Kageyama!" Hinata cried out, getting freaked out more as every second passed.
"Cut the nonsense boke!" Kageyama glared, making the middle blocker sink on his seat. He heaved a sigh before saying, "What did you come here for?"
"YOU of course" Hinata spoke like it's the most obvious thing in the whole world before crossing his arms and looking away, "The team doesn't feel the same without you"
Kageyama was taken aback and could only blink in response but with every blink he took, Hinata and the others gradually vanished out of sight.
"HINATA!"
One glance back at the orangehead only made him see a table knocked down and that's when he realized he was pulled back to reality.
drip drop
Kageyama could only frown and stare down, his eyes consumed with sadness before he felt the sting of his wound again.
The ravenette (I don't want to make his hair white) clutched his wound as his lips quivered in pain until he heard a sound of someone preparing coffee in the counter.
"It's surprisingly hard... to make coffee, isn't it?" A familiar voice reached Kageyama's ears as footsteps closed in on him.
His eyes widened in both surprise and disbelief as light shone down on the stranger. Kageyama recognized the chocolate-brown eyes that usually challenged him to a match and the orange hair that always gets brushed whenever he runs for the toss to spike the ball.
Seeing was believing but he still couldn't believe what he saw.
"Yo Kageyama!" Hinata smiled with two cups of coffee in his hands.
"Hinata" Kageyama's eyes were still wide in surprise.
A few seconds passed when it hit Kageyama. He instantly cover his 'ghoul' eye with a hand and avoided looking directly at his teammate's eyes.
Hinata's bright eyes dimmed into sadness as he hung his head low. Who knew things would actually end like this?
"Kageyama..." Hinata paused before managing to pluck up his courage. "I knew"
The ravenette's shaking hand stopped dead while slightly tilting his head upwards.
"Yeah... I knew"
drip drip drop
Hinata placed a cup down before walking close to the glass wall. "This is awful. Must not be ready yet"
He took a sip on the coffee and cringed at the taste. "Ugh, sorry Kageyama. This one tastes awful as well" Hinata smiled but still saw Kageyama with his head hung low.
