I hate Monday's. I honestly think everyone does, but after partying hard all weekend, I still had a massive headache. Being hungover was not the best way to go to school, especially when you have possibly the hardest practice of your football career after school.
As I waited for Mr. Davis' class to begin, I put my head down and tried to get some sleep in. Being in class with 22 other kids, it didn't surprise me that it didn't happen.
"What's got you in a funky state," a voice behind me asked. I slowly began to look up and saw Amelia staring down at me. Do lights really have to be so bright?
"Just shut up. I'm tired." I really didn't want to deal with anyone. Kaden had still been in a pissy mood, due to the fact that he'd gotten ejected from Friday's game.
"Well I'm not gonna shut up because you're kind of taking up the whole table," Amelia snapped. I dragged my head more to the left and hoped that she would just be quiet.
"What the hell was that for?" I grumbled.
"What're you talking about?" Amelia questioned. Oh like she doesn't know what she did.
"Why did you have to slam your books on the desk," I said. I don't even know why she's carrying so many books. It's barely the second week of school.
"You mean like this," she said, as she slammed her books on the desk again.
"Yea. Like that. It must be someone's time of the-" I got cut off by the bell, which signified the start of class. Amelia just looked at me and smirked.
"Alright class! Settle down. Today we will be reviewing some simple algebra," Mr. Davis was practically yelling over the people talking. "Now I know you all took algebra in either eighth grade, or your freshman year, but I just want to clea-"
"Mr. Davis," a voice was coming from the intercom on the ceiling.
"Yes?"
"Can you please send Carter Wilson to the front office, please?" I immediately looked up and notice the class looking at me.
"I sure can,"
"Thank you," the voice said.
"Carter you heard them. Just take the-"
"Mr. Davis," the intercom lady began.
"What now," he said exasperated.
"We also need Amelia Vera to the office. Thank you," she said quickly.
Mr. Davis, as well as the rest of the class, turned to look at the both of us. Great, just what I needed. I looked at Amelia and she just shrugged at me.
"Alright both of you go and as I was saying before I got cut off, take the pass."
I slowly got up from my seat and took a good minute just to gather my things, which was just a notebook and a pencil. I could practically here Amelia rolling her eyes.

"Alright thank you guys for coming," my counselor, Ms. Perez, said, as Kaden and Mackenzie walked in. What the hell were they doing here?I gave Kaden a look, and he just mouthed 'I don't know'. I surveyed the room and looked at each of the people. I only knew 4 out of the 7 of them, excluding me.
"So I wanna start off by saying congratulations," Ms. Perez said. I swear I heard Amelia release a breath, as if she was nervous for being in trouble.
"Congratulations for what exactly," Mackenzie questioned.
"Well, I was about to get to that. So this year you 8 have been nominated by your clubs and sports to be the nominees for this year's homecoming as the princes and princesses," Ms. Perez replied. I honestly wasn't surprised at what she was saying. Every time homecoming roles around, the football team nominates their two varsity captains and their JV and freshman captains. That way the JV captain is a sophomore.
