I stood there, probably looking like an idiot, just staring at them. In my defense what do you say to an amazingly talented cast of one of the most popular musicals on Broadway at the moment. I kept wanting to say something but I couldn't think of anything to say that wouldn't make me sound crazy and or stupid.
"Hi, I'm Daveed," Daveed said to brake pthe silence. After he said that the whole cast started introducing themselves.
"Hi I'm Renée!"
"Hello there I'm Philippa but everyone just calls me pippa"
"Hi I'm Anthony"
"I'm Jasmine but everyone calls me jazzy"
"I'm Okieriete Onaodowan but that's hard to say so people just call me oak"
"Hello I'm Leslie"
And so on before everyone had introduced themselves to me. Honestly they didn't really need to introduce themselves. I already knew all of them but I figured I wouldn't tell them that because I feel like that would make me seem weird.
"Hi my name is Anne Renée Wilson," I said awkwardly with a slight smile.
"We share a name! Well, I mean, I guess it more like you have the same middle name as my first name but still!" Renée said very excitedly.
"Yea we do! That's pretty cool," I said happily.
"Well as much fun as this is we gotta get this one her stuff and bring her home so she can get settled," Lin said while putting his hand on my head.
The whole cast smiled and said goodbye. I was completely in shock of what happened but I was also thrown off because why would I have to get settled, I already have foster house. Lin lead me back to his dressing room and told me to wait while he got out of his costume and back into his street clothes. I was getting sad at the thought of having to go back to my foster home. Also I missed my one meal of the day so I was gonna have to wait till tomorrow night to eat.
"Are you ready to go?" Lin asked back in his street clothes, ready to go.
"Um yeah. I'll just walk back by myself you don't have to worry about driving me back," I stated with a sad tone.
"Oh you aren't going back there! I talked to my wife and we called your social worker and we have gotten permission to take you in and foster you," he said with a big smile on his face.
I didn't know what to say so I just gave him a big hug and said thank you over and over again. He returned the hug and said it was no problem he wanted to help me. After we broke the hug he grabbed my backpack and said lets go. We walked out of the theater and got into his car. I haven't been driven somewhere in months because my foster homes usually left me at home when they went somewhere. Lin decided we should go back to my old foster home just to pack up all of my stuff.
"What's the address?" He asked.
"Oh um it's 546 Geist lane," I replied
We both buckled up and then we were off. It didn't take us too long to get to my old foster home. Wow, it's odd to say that it's my old foster home and I'm now getting fostered by Lin Manuel Miranda. I told him I could just go in by myself and get my stuff but he insisted on going in with me.
I noticed my foster parents car wasn't in the driveway. That excited me because I thought that meant that none of them would be there and I could leave in peace. Of course I was wrong because as soon as I walked in I saw Trent.
"Hey there bitch. I heard you are moving foster homes. I knew it was just a matter of time before my parents got tired of you. I hope this doesn't put a damper on what we have," he said with this look that made me feel disgusted.
"We don't have anything and I hope I never see you again," I said as I felt Lin's presence come behind me.
He put a reassuring hand on my arm and then I walked past Trent and went up to my old bedroom. I grabbed my duffel bag and started filling it with my limited amount of clothes and toiletries. Honestly the most room taken up in my bag is from books. I finally finished packing the rest of my books, my laptop, and all of my chargers and miscellaneous stuff.
"Well this is it," I said as I slung my duffel on my shoulder and grabbed my music stand.
"Ok let's get outta here," Lin said with a reassuring smile.
Honestly I was so ready to get out of this house. I was dreading going back down the stairs because whenever I see Trent I think about what he did to me and I feel sick. Once I got down the stairs I looked straight forward and didn't even look in Trent's direction, not even when he tried to talk to me. I felt relieved when we got out to Lin's car. I quickly put all of my stuff in Lin's car and got in, hoping to leave as soon as possible.
It didn't take too long to get to Lin's apartment but it was a far enough distance away from my old foster home I felt safe. I hopped out of Lin's car and grabbed my backpack, duffel bag, viola, and music stand. By the time I had all of that in my arms I had no free hands so Lin had to do all of the opening and closing of doors. We finally got to his apartment but as soon as he opened the door I got really nervous. What if his wife doesn't like me or gets freaked out by my burn scars?
I push away those thoughts and stepped into their apartment greeted by a beautiful woman and a small boy. They introduced themselves as Vanessa, Lin's wife, and Sebastian, Lin's son. I liked them both and they seemed like nice enough people. But I was really tired so I asked them where my room would be and they lead me to a plain white room with just a queen sized bed in it. They said goodnight to me and I said goodnight back. As soon as the door closed I threw all of my stuff on the floor and went to bed right away.
Hello! I hope you guys liked this chapter! I know two chapters in one day is crazy. But I'm sick rn (I know sick in the middle of summer wtf) and I have nothing else to do but this and feel bad 😂. But anyways give me feedback if you hate this or love it! Anyways bye! XOXO
