You know when it feels like you're not alone? Like, you know someone is listening to every sound you make. The constant feeling of someone's eyes on you... but nobody is there.
I, Quinn Athien Stars, am being subject to that very feeling.
Fuck that feeling.
"I swear nothing about him is human." Toby muttered as his tray clacked down beside my own. I decided to pretend I didn't hear him. As usual. What? I liked my thinking time to remain thinking time. So, my delicious Toby being the usual Toby, he continued to blab while I looked into the depths of my mash potatoes. Not that the potatoes were particularly interesting, it was just the most digestible... food on the tray.
"Also, I forgot to mention that I won't be here for the next few days." Toby added in. This statement completely shattered my rather delicate attention span.
"You have my attention." I said simply, my blue orbs moving to look up at Toby's chocolate ones.
For some absurd reason, my dear friend found my actions funny. I will tie him to the tree of woe and have him be licked by fire kittens later. He will suffer. I will be sure of that.
"Quinn... I have to go to my physical therapy office across state. My once a month thing." He said, explaining it simply to my unusually focused mind.
It took me several moments to sink the information in. Okay. Yes. He would be gone for a few days. This was normal. Nothing wrong with that. Except for the fact that it was Wednesday and I had no big hunky muscle man to defend my wimpy ass for the next 3 days.
"Mmmm.... Okay." Toby hummed out, assessing my reaction and debating on whether he should run or stay. He clearly determined that he should stay because he remained seated.
Wrong choice.
With a quick flick of the wrist, my hand traveled to his chest and I gave him the most purple-y purple I could muster.
Needless to say, I got my feelings across.
"You have fingers of fucking steel." Toby complained as he rubbed his chest, a small pout on his lips.
Despite the cuteness of his pout, I stood my unhappy ground firmly.
"Quiiiiiiiin." Toby whined out when he saw my expression, leaning in my direction and hitting me with the puppy eyes. That was playing dirty.
"No." I said, making my eyes as glare-y as possible. Yes. I was being very mean today.. Suck it Toby... leaving me with these people!
"Quinn..." Toby quietly said, his voice suddenly serious. "Hot guy behind you..." He muttered, eyes not moving to see if I crack.
I wouldn't though, for I am the master of all things... of this nature... I really need to get better at name calling.
"Dannnnyy!~" A cheerful voice sung out from behind us as Toby resumed to eat his bland, yet surprisingly edible, mashed potatoes. Yes. With gravy.
In a completely normal way, no awkwardness at all, I gracefully sat back into my normal position. That was the voice of Leo.
Leo had been at the school since the beginning of this year, and oh god has he made a name for himself. He was kinda this years sexy extraordinaire. He was about 5'4" and had this perfect hair and onyx eyes. He was a tiny bundle of sexy.. But still sexy.
And by the way he was hanging off of the new guys back, he was limber also. Rumor had it he was model.. And danced. Seeing him up this close, I definitely wouldn't doubt it.
