Patter patter patter, the rain went down. I had already made my decision-no going back now. Patter patter pat.

I was arranging my money for the train, when I heard crying. The crying went on but no one, not even a mother  I saw with a few children, cared about the child's cry. The crying went on, and I was so annoyed, I decided to get the child, hand it to some beggars and go back in.

But mabye... Patter pat pat.

I got out of line, passing by rich, poor, young, and old folks, also waiting for a spot on the train to Harbor.

As I began to walk by the beggars, they looked at my with sorrowful eyes. I tried not to look, like everyone else. If you became a beggar, there was no going back. Many people who knew they would be beggars hung or shot themselves. Being a beggar means basically being dead, but breathing.

I kept going.

Then, the crying was as close as if they were crying in my ear.

I looked and saw the tiny child crying and sleeping...she was about 4, maybe 5. Hmm, another mother-giving-away-her-child-on-the-streets cliche. It's become common since the war.

No one was around her, and she was very dirty and cold.

I picked up the girl.

As I passed by the beggars again, they looked at me questioning. One spoke. "Should I take the child girl?" I stared at her. I didn't really want her but she was so fragile you could tell if she wasn't taken cared of, she would die.

"No. She's...my sister"

"Oh, I'm sorry. I thought she was girl I saw over there," she pointed to where I picked her up.

"but, I guess not. Have a good day deary."

I got back in line with the girl.Soon, it was my turn.

I gave the ticket man 13$, the amount for 1 ticket.

As I was going on to the train, someone pulled my jacket backwards."Ehem. Miss." I turned around, the ticket man still holding on to me." you need 26$ if you want to bring your sister with you"

"Umm..." I searched through my bag. It was filled with food, bandages, a gun, and my camera.

It also held my wallet, of course, which I took out and handed the man 13$ more. He scolded but let me through.

I was able to find a little corner with two seats.

Setting the girl down, I opened my bag and got out my favorite deck of cards, in which I had brought 3. My favorite was an Indian&Cowboy Card Deck, with gold tinting on the corners. I had always kept in a safe place, but now I just use them normaly, yet carefully.

I started a game a Solitaire, and well,I got distracted. I thought about the girl. Could I take care of us both?

What if she runs off..what if she goes into gang territory.

The thoughts made me shiver. I was surprised that I was worrying about a girl who-I didn't even their age-their name. I at least don't have to be alone in Harbor.

It'll be nice to have this girl as some company...and....

About 35 minutues after the train had departed,  the girl suddenly woke up, making me jump in suprise. She seemed to be in complete shock of where she was.

"Um, hello" I said, as she stared around the train. She stared into me.

She had these beautiful blue eyes, so innocent and pure.

" I'm Sam. I'll be....I'm your sister. Our mother and father..." My voice quivers for a moment, thinking of what happened to my parents " Are gonna be on a trip for a while. What's your name?" She quivered for a moment, seeming as if her name was terrifying.

"Hannah,"she said. "My name is Hannah."Just making sure you keep trying.
