I Am

I'm a poet,
I am

And yes ma'am,
I know where I am
Wisconsin

In a city that talks a lot,
But doesn't have much bite
Though someday it might

I'm a poet,
I am

I write about emotion,
I twist it in my mind
Maybe my words aren't ready for mankind

We're all ready for honesty,
The truth,
But some of us can't handle the proof

I'm a poet,
I am

I know a lot about society,
And who I really am

The fact that I,
Can bend my religion
And I don't really mind

I'm a poet,
I am

I don't really care about your orientation,
Or how you carry yourself

As long as you feel
As you should feel,
As a sane being

I'm a poet,
I am

Bam!
I take reality and I shift it.
Uncovering what's really trying to be presented here

Water drips away.
Leaky faucet?
Ha, no

There goes his mentality,
Her sanity

I'm a poet,
I am

What are those lyrics?
"Snap back to reality,
Oh there goes gravity"

Maybe that poet knows too
Realitiy is what you make it,
And gravity is a shackle.

Unleash yourself
Be yourself

I'm a poet,
I am

Ready to throw down my blanket of darkness
Add some spice to my words,
But I'm not trying to make everything a blurb

Poetry surf's my veins,
Thinking outside the world's box

I'm a poet,
I am
