In many stories, they say that good always wins. I find that is always true, but it isn't good that wins it is love. When something bad happens, love fights back every time. Families get fractured and hearts are broken. With that, hands are extended and hearts are mended. If life was a game of cards, love would always overpower hate. This is exactly what Casey learned to believe.

Even as a young boy, Casey had always looked forward to the time he would attend Ithica Academy. Those four years of high school would be what Casey thought, the best years of his life.

Walking into class on the first day, Casey could hardly contain his excitement. Magic. That was what he would learn at the academy. Casey walked into the brightly lit room and sat in the desk closest to the front of the class, ready.

"Good morning class," His teacher, Mr. Evans said. "Today we will be working on our first assignment called commentary is extraordinary. In this assignment you will choose a book to read, whichever is closest to your heart. While you read please make notations in the book using a magical phrase you will learn shortly."

After class Casey visited the student book store to buy the book he would use in his assignment. As he walked by a shelf he heard a slam and a grunt. Turning the corner, Casey peered around the shelf. His face was red, and his eye were full of tears. There, pinned to the shelf by bullies was Mikey George. It had been spread around the halls, that Mikey didn't like girls, but boys. This had turned up a lot of controversy, and not a lot was positive.

"Hey!" Casey said, as he headed to defend the bloodied boy. "Back it off guys, and grow a pair."

The bully, whom Casey had never seen or heard of, grew red in the face. "Why don't you? You wanna date the gay?"

"You want a date with my fists?" Casey raised his fists to above his face. This guy didn't stand a chance.

"I got work to do." Was all the bully said before marching away, friend trailing behind. They left the bloodied victim.

"You ok?" Casey asked,

"Um, yeah." Mikey's voice was deep and strong, he was already better, and the bleeding had stopped.

This was when Casey notice the book beside him. "This yours?"

"Yeah it is my memo book. People send me notes in it." Casey picked up the book and examined it.

"Some pretty nasty stuff in here." Words like faggot and abnormal stuck up off the pages. The more hurtful the words the bigger it was. Casey then pledged to be Mikey's friend, and help him through everything. Casey Adelpha, the family of love, to help the hurt. Casey didn't know that then, but he always wondered how all the hurtful words had fallen off the pages and a smile spread instantly across his new friend's face.
