Thanks Zoe

As I read the notice I begin to think maybe I found it. Maybe I found a new place to call home. Although I'm not sure if I can keep up with the rent. I might have to see if I can get more shifts at work.

As I pick up the phone in the hotel I realise the time. It's late maybe I shouldn't call her now. After pondering for a minute I decide to ring her anyway.

Ring ring...

Ring ring...

"Hello Zoe speaking." A voice answers.

"Um hi there. My name is Jason and I am calling in regards to your advertisement for a new flatmate." I say somewhat formally. I'm so nervous.

"Oh cool. It's yours if you want it. You can move in as soon as you like. I do have to ask if you are lgbt friendly because if not it's a deal breaker." She sounds very sweet.

"Yeah I have no problem with lgbt." My voice is no more than a whisper.

"Well we will see you sometime soon?" She asks.

"Would I be able to move in like right now?" I sound too eager, I shouldn't have said that.

"Of course. See you later." The line goes dead.

I quickly pack my stuff into my suitcase and head down stairs. I check out of my hotel and wait for a taxi. I can't believe I'm doing this. I know truly I can't afford this but I will try my best to make something work. Maybe this was a bad idea.

The entire ride to my new house I continue to contemplate my life choices. But before I can back out of this the taxi pulls up and I'm standing outside. Knocking on the door brings the longest silence I have ever had to endure. Suddenly the door opens and I'm greeted by a tall guy and a slightly shorter girl.

The girl squeals and takes me in for a hug. I'm feeling very nervous. I don't know these people. I can feel tears pricking at the corner of my eyes. I'm not going to cry in front of these people. They don't need to know that I can't hold myself together.

"Hey mate I'm Alfie and this is my girlfriend Zoe. Sorry about her, she forgets not everyone wants to be hugged upon arrival. Come in we will show you the room. Do you have more stuff? Or is there some coming in the morning?" The tall guy says.

I follow him to a small room as Zoe disappears yelling someones name at another door. I take a look and am grateful for a mattress on the floor. I don't own any furniture and I can tell by Alfie's earlier comment that he is expecting more stuff to arrive. Just wait till they realise that I can't pay the rent for very long.

"This is it. That mattress is all yours if you want it. You can bring your own furniture if you want. Anyway, I will let you get settled in and then come and sit in the living room with us? We will introduce you to Troye if he will come out of his room. He's going through a bit of a bad break up at the moment." Alfie says and pats me on the back.

"Yeah I'll be there soon. Just want to get settled I guess. Do you have a spare duvet and sheets? I have to go and get some from the shop in the morning." I ask quietly.

"We have some that you can have. You don't need to buy anything. I will just grab them for you sorry." Alfie says before going to grab the bedding.

When he returns to the room, I am clearly distressed.

"Sorry. I'm okay. This is all just a little bit overwhelming. I haven't really lived with other people for a while. But I need to as a way to save money now and stuff. It's just a lot of things changing all at once. But seriously I'm okay. Let's go out into the living room."I say quietly, hoping my voice wont break and let me down.

Alfie still doesn't say anything he just leads me to the living room. I still feel really worried and I don't know what to do. When we get to the living room, Zoe is holding another boy, who I assume is Troye. He's crying and Zoe seems to be comforting him. Alfie sits next to the boy on the other side of Zoe and seems to take over.

"Hey Jason, I hope you've settled in okay. That's Troye, he's going through a bit of a hard time at the moment but he will be fine. I'm going to order a pizza would you like some?" Zoe's a sweet girl, very considerate and makes me feel like I'm at home.

"I'm not really hungry. Thanks I think I might go to bed if that's okay." I reply.

"That's fine sweetie. Sweet dreams." She really is so sweet.

Feeling a little sorry for myself I make my way back to my room. In my head all I can think about is the choices I've made and the events in my life that made me be the weak arse that I am. But somewhere in the back of my mind is also an over powering need to find out more about Troye.

I'm not stupid, I know these guys are famous YouTubers so maybe I should just Google them.

Sinking down on my bed and my head into my pillow, sleep finds me quickly.
