*This is Alexis (Amelia's Bff) POV of what happened at Amelia's house that one day. So it's going back in time to the first day of school, but will be in present time after.
Recap: (it's in Amelia's POV)
"So who do you like?" I ask Alexis.
"Um no one in particular.... How bout you?" Alexis quickly says.
"Ohh you so have a crush on some one!!! I know when your lying you Alexis! You're like an open book." I tell her with a smile. I remember at my 8th birthday party someone had taken ice cream before we cut the cake and I was mad. I went up to each of my friends and each told me it wasn't them, but when I went up to Alexis she sweetly smiles at me and said she didn't do it. What she didn't know was that there was ice cream on her dress. My point is Alexis is a horrible liar.
"What about you, huh? Are you sure you don't like anyone?" Alexis asks me again.
"Ok how about this," I start, "what if we both say who we like at the same time if we do like anyone, ok?" I suggest to her.
"Ok ready 1...2...3..." Alexis starts
"I like-" we both say simultaneously
~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~"What do you mean you like Joey?" Amelia questioned.
"I-I thought-I thought you knew," I stammered out. I mean we did talk about him occasionally, but I guess she didn't read into it.
"Why would you think I'd know you like him?" Well A) She knows I've always had a schoolgirl crush on him. And B) Wasn't it obvious?
"Well I just thought you would, you know? I mean he's so hot and-" I began.
"Stop. I don't wanna hear about your crush on my brother." She blurted out. "I already hear enough of it at school."
There was a few moments of silence, and I was curious to know what Amelia was thinking. I mean she knows that I like an occasional guy here and there, but she must've never thought I'd like her brother.
"A penny for your thoughts?" I mumbled.
"I don't know what I'm thinking Alexis. When I asked who you liked, I sure as hell wasn't expecting that," she responded.
"Well you didn't even say who you liked, so I think we should just drop this conversation," I said.
"That's because I don't like anyone!"
I honestly didn't know what to say. My best friend of almost 10 years played me. Amelia basically made up the idea of us both saying who we liked when she didn't even like anyone!
"You know what, I'm just gonna go," I muttered.
"I think that's for the best," Amelia responded.
Great. Just freaking great. I gathered my stuff and headed out of Amelia's room. I turned as I closed the door, and she wouldn't meet my gaze. What had I just done? I could've just ruined my longest friendship. I slowly began my descent down the stairs, when the front door opened.
