Scene 1
{A stork flies through the sky carrying a blanket bundled up tightly around a sleeping baby in it's mouth. He smells something delicious and looks down to see people eating fish outside a fish shop}

Stork
I've been flying for 3 hours without eating. I'm too far away from the ocean to catch fish. All of the people down there are walking out of the building with fish. Maybe I can get some too. {Enters the fish shop and walks up to the cashier.}
Excuse me!
{Cashier looks up.}

Cashier
Oh! Hello! How can I help you?

Stork
I need some food before I make a delivery. {Gestures toward bundle} Can I have ten fish with a bit of salt sprinkled on top. Please leave it raw; I hate cooked fish!

Cashier
Ok, ten raw fish with salt coming right up! {Brings fish} That will be twenty dollars.

Stork
Huh? What are dollars?

Cashier
You don't know what dollars are? It's a form of money. You know, the thing you use to pay for the fish.

Stork
You mean I have to pay for this? I don't even have money! I thought you were supposed to just give it to me.

Cashier
No! You have to have money. If you don't, then you can't have the fish. Since you can't pay for it, please leave the store. If you want money get a job.

{Stork picks up baby and walks out door. Starts flying again}

Stork
I do have a job! I deliver babies. Why don't I get money from my job? Come to think of it, I don't get anything at all for delivering babies. So why do I do it? Oh, look! There's the house. {Flies towards the house and lands on doorstep. Rings the doorbell}

{Door opens and an excited young couple walks out.}

Woman
Oh, hello! Is this the baby? {Points at bundle}

Stork
Yes, this is the baby.

{Woman picks up baby}

Woman
Awww! Look how cute it is! Oh, and it's a girl just like I wanted! Look at her John, isn't she adorable?
