"Are you ready for your blessings,
Are you ready,
For your miracle"
(Chance the Rapper's song, Blessings)I sat up and turned my alarm off.
"Yep, Chance. I'm ready."
It was 8:00am. I quickly got up and woke up Dreana and Davionna. I told them to get ready because we were visiting our old church today. They moaned and growled at me, but they will get over it.
I ran back to my room and got ready for the day. I had on a decent dress that was white at the top and floral on the bottom.
I ran downstairs and got a blueberry muffin to eat. I didn't want to eat too much, since I planned on eating at church.
"DREANA! DAVIONNA! COME ON!" I yelled at the top of my lungs. I was really feeling the holy spirit.
"Ight we comin dang," said Davi a little irritated. "We eatin there?"
"Yea."
"Why are you in such a good mood to go to church?" asked Dre as she came into the kitchen.
"Because girl I'm feelin the holy spirit today, and God put it on my heart to go to church today."
"But it's the last day of spring break!" Dreana whined.
"Girl your lord and savior is more important now hush," said Davi.
"Amen." I agreed.
"I know, I know."
"Alright lets get in the car." I said.
"But church don't start til 11:00am." Davi pointed out.
"Sunday school," I said with a huge grin on my face.
"Jai did you have a comin to Jesus or somethin?" asked Davi curious.
"Girl what's that supposed to mean."
"Oh nothing just forget it."With that, the three of us got into my corvette. Poor Davi was a little crowded in the back.
It took us about 15 minutes to get to our church. The neighborhood had really gone downhill. We were in the hood of South Carolina.
I parked in the parking lot behind the church. We all got out the car and I made sure I let the top up to my car. Then I locked the doors and turned my alarm on. I wasn't playin.
We all headed to the door and went inside. As I stepped in, I heard a deep voice call my name. I whipped around confused at who in this neighborhood would know my name.
I couldn't believe who I saw before me.
"Hey Big Sus!"
"Oh my god Lamar is that you?""Yea!" he said laughing.
"Wassup!" I said smiling.I ran over to him, which was hard because I was in heels. Then I was in his arms, and we hugged for what seemed like forever. I was so happy to see him.
"How you been girl?"
"I've been good. Do you still live down the street?"
"Yea wit moms."
"Aww I miss her."
"Yea. She still be tryna drag me in there too," he said pointing to the church.
"Ha, you still don't believe huh."
"Nah no one above me."
"Well Lamar I really hope you start believin soon. I'm scared for you."
"Sus you ain gotta be scared for me. Imma be ight. I'm thinkin about goin into the military though."
"But Lil Bro, what if you...die." I said with my eyes wide open.
"Then I die." he said laughing.
