"So are you going to go for it?" Maya's rushing me for an answer. "Go for what?.." I was kind of scared of what she's going to say. "Oh my god, Ashley! For Kyle!" The whole class just stared at us. Maya was so loud! I hid under the table dragging Maya with me. Thank god Kyle doesn't go to Science class with us.
My name is Ashley and I'm 16. My two best friends are Maya and Kyle. We all been friends since the 6th grade.
I was in the cafeteria waiting for Maya and Kyle. Across the room I can see a couple feeding each other strawberries. Can me and Kyle be like that one day? Feed each other strawberries while looking cute? I see them coming by. Maya sits across me and Kyle's next to me. "Hey! Come to Winter Flake prom!" Sunshine hands Maya a flyer. Maya gives me a look and I'm giving her the "No we're not going" look. But on second thought.. What if this is my chance? To get with Kyle.
We're in P.E. class. These uniforms are so ew. Black shorts and blue t-shirt. I got a scraped up knee from volleyball. Today we're playing basketball.
I'm walking home and it's cold. I hate winter. I'm freezing my ass off! *beeeeeep* "Hey what's up?" Oh it's a text from Kyle. "Nothing much how about you?" "Oh I'm doing fine. Well I'm just checking in. I gtg." I miss Kyle already..
The dance is already this Friday. Today's a Tuesday afternoon. "Hey wanna go shopping? You know, for our prom dresses?" "Sure, since I got nothing to do anyways." So we went to the mall. Right when I walked in Maya dragged me to different stores. After hours of searching for a dress I like I couldn't find any. I smell pretzels. Man.. I didn't eat at all. I walked to the food court and ordered a pretzel. I turned to the side waiting for my pretzel and I saw it.. The dress! The perfect dress. A short purple dress. Strapless. The top has dark and light purple sprinkles. Just as I pictured. I walked in and tried it on. Fits perfectly. I bought it and totally forgot about the pretzel.
It's a Wednesday. I'm in history class and the suns reflection is in my eye. Annoying. I see Kyle walk in. I walked over to him and said hi when this girl bumps into my shoulder on purpose. "HAHA oops. Sorry ;)" Crystal laughed as she said that. "Watch it." I shoved her. The teacher caught me right at moment when I was about to shove her again. Shit, detention. I'm home and my parents were sitting on the couch giving me a dirty look. "Detention? Really Ashley?! Your teacher called me and said you shoved a girl?" My mom is constantly yelling at me while my dad just nods and says "Mhm... Mhm.." And all I hear is "blah blah blah" until I heard her say "grounded for 2 weeks. WAIT WHAT?! "Mom. Come on a girl pushed me. You want me to just back off looking like a lost puppy?! I have to go to prom on Friday. You can't ground me!" "Well, you should've just told that young last to apologize instead of shoving her. Too bad. You're grounded."
The next day I called Maya and told her I'm grounded. She said she's going to be bored without me. Ugh this blows. "I'll be there don't worry." I said. "What do you mean you'll be there? You're grounded dude." "I can sneak out." "You're crazy." We ended our call here. Mom texted me. "While those 2 weeks you're going to do your chores. You haven't done your laundry yet." I told Kyle that I'm grounded and the plan is to sneak out. This is like Cinderella all over again. I'm stuck at home doing chores instead of going to a dance. Having a time to get back home.
It's Friday. The day of prom. I'm at school talking about sneaking out with Maya while Kyle is MIA. "The closet next to my room has a ladder. I can just climb down and Maya, you're going to be outside waiting for me in the car. You're going to do my make up and we'll change into our beautiful dresses. Then party and try to have a good time. My parents work together so they won't be back until 11:00 pm. So I have to be back by 11" Maya thought it was a good idea. Oh my.. The stuff I do for Kyle's love.
It is now the time to sneak out. I grabbed the ladder and climbed down. Maya rushed me into the car and we drove to her house. She did my make up and hair.
After an hour.. I don't look like Ashley anymore. I look like a different person. I'm caked in make up. Perfectly done hair. Beautiful dress. Nice shoes.. It's like I'm wearing a disguise. "You look hot." Maya winked at me.
Here we are at prom. I'm sitting alone with Maya. We went solo cause we didn't have dates. I see Kyle walk in. He looks hot.. Like really hot in a suit. The music is playing and Kyle walks over to me. "You look beautiful." while Kyle smiles at me. I melt just looking at his smile. "So do you." "Wanna dance?" His left arm is out and I grabbed it and danced with him. I knew it. I knew we had a chance. I rested my head on his left shoulder and I see Maya with Jordan. I knew she had a thing for him. "So.. You really sneaked out?" "Aha yeah." Awkward silence. "Kyle.." I'm so nervous. "I really like you. Can we.. Be more than just best friends?" "Yes. I was hoping you'll say that." We kissed and I felt like fainting. I got the guy I loved.
It's 10:30. I dragged maya with me out the door and she took me home. I'm happy. I sneaked out without my parents realizing it. I got to dance with Kyle. We kissed. We're now dating. I'll never forget this night. <3
