Chapter 10

Carmen POV

The cannon fires as I see Kimberley's eyes close. She's dead. I showed mercy on her for once. Because she doesn't deserve to be here. Nor should Lux or anyone here.

We untie her and I retrieve all the weapons I speared her with. Including the arrow. We go to the stream that Kimberley was surviving off and wash off the blood from the weapons. So that others will not get to this stream. And if they do, they'll be poisoned.

I see the hovercraft carry away Kimberley's lifeless body. She's going back to her family in District 4.

Our alliance hikes to "District 10" and retrieves her supplies. Lux splits her food supply up, along with her weapons. Her trident is useless to me, but Lux takes it and returns my knives to me, leaving two for himself.

"It will work like a spear." Lux says, while glancing at the three tridents. Besides the tridents, Kimberley also has two spears. We, of course, have her third one after she lodged it in Crystal's shoulder.

Crystal's shoulder is almost healed. Now, I don't have to change her bandages after very short periods of times. It's most of a few hours before they bleed through. Then, we'll find a stream, disinfect it, put the healing cream and bandage it.

My fingers are already healed. They can move and when I release arrows, they don't hurt a bit. They are good as new, like the lava didn't even touch them.

We decide to move our camp to the District One scenery as there seems to be no damage there nor is there any tributes. But the scenery there is gorgeous. The trees are made out of various jewels, like emerald, sapphire, even Crystal. These trees are truly spectacular.

We set up camp below the crystal trees. They are spiked and are extremely sharp. If anyone tries to attack us, at least we have a weapon, which are the trees, if any of us go weaponless.

Just as I fall into a deep slumber, I hear a rustling in the bushes.......

Doe POV 

(If any of you are clueless on who she is, she is the District 7 tribute that got a 10 for private sessions along with Thimble, her District Partner. Carmen killed Thimble and finds Doe intimidating)

I was camping out in "District One" until I spotted Carmen. She's intimidating, alright, with her twelve, her archer set and with her eleven knives. She killed three in the bloodbath and I think they killed a Career from 4. The rest, I'm not sure.

I've killed five tributes so far. The two puny District Elevens, the threes and a Capitol boy. But I know that I want to kill Carmen. She killed Thimble, my ally. We had planned this in the train. But Thimble didn't even make it through the first day, leaving me alone. I had ran to The Capitol's scenery, where most of the boys were. I killed one of them off in there and the rest started running. However, I was terrorized by the mutts there. The Capitol's scenery was to lure the Capitol boys in. But there are many mutts. But they won't attack if you don't disturb them.

When I see that Carmen and her alliance looks like they had fallen asleep, I prepared my axes. I want to kill them already. That way, I can has more sponsors and kill off my biggest threat.  Their alliance is strong, with two twelves and a eleven. I sneak towards them, armed with my two axes.

Just then.......

Carmen POV

I awaken to see that it is Doe, the District 7 tribute that is intimidating with her axes. She's crawling up towards us. I grab my bow and arrows and see her slithering nearer and nearer towards me. I have a knife handy now. In any case, I'll be armed.
