Hello dear reader, what you hold in your hands is a series of perspectives from individuals in the heart of the apocalypse. Follow Kaylee, Jacob, Michelle, and Adam as they band together with one common goal: run.
Meet Kaylee, a ruthless sixteen-year-old orphan who has been moved from home to home, never able to settle down. In a world where everything goes to hell, this headstrong young woman finds herself adjusting easily to her new life. However, she soon finds herself immersed in the thick of the battle between life or... Well... Life after death.
Enter Jacob, also sixteen, who has lived in a lavish house in San Diego all his life. With his parents gone all the time and nobody keeping an eye on him, he wants to kick off the summer with a bang. However, with the recent Ebola virus outbreak, city officials are keeping a close eye on citizens; leaving Jacob with no other choice than to sneak out after curfew to investigate.
Michelle has always wanted to run away. Away from her scientist parents. Away from her horrible school. Away from the horrible summer job her parents forced upon her. When she makes a grave mistake that could lead to the destruction of the world, Michelle has no other choice than to fix what could be the end.
Last but not least, meet Adam. Star of the track team and quarterback for his high school, he has had quite a bit of experience with running. When drafted into the San Diego Army age nowhere to go, running is the only thing that keeps this seventeen-year-old alive.
