Unknown POV
Ringing. All I hear is ringing. A very bright light is blinding my sight, but I appear to be on the ground. My memory slowly starts to come back,...and then I remember... shit.I sit up fast, my head pounding and a dizzy feeling comes over me. I feel something traveling down my face. I touch it. Blood.
I look up at the ceiling, or what's left of it, as the sun continues to shine down. I take in my surroundings. Bodies everywhere, all dressed in formal attire. People who Myanne and I have grown close to, dead.
"Myanne?!" My voice came out dry and raspy. "MYANNE?!" Nothing. Nothing can be heard but the sound of sirens in the distance.
I attempt to stand but a sharp pain goes through my body from my leg. I look down at the wound and the shard of glass in my leg. How did I not notice that before? I pull the shard out and watch the wound heal.
"Hello?!... is.. is anyone th-there?" I look across the room and watch an arm move under a pile of rubble. "HELLO?!" It takes a second to sync in, but I recognize the voice.
"MYANNE!" I rush over to her as fast as my legs can take me. My leg may be healed externally, but not internally. I start picking up pieces of the roof, wall and the chandelier that sent her across the room. I move everything aside and move her out of the pile.
I bring her outside far from the burning building and place her carefully on the ground. "Oh my god, your alive. I'm so glad your alive. I thought.. I thought I lost you in there, I really thought I lost you." I ramble as I pull her in a tight hug without hurting her because of her potential injuries. I pull away from the hug.
"Are you okay? Are... are you hurt, does anything hur-"
"I'm fine." She says as she pulls me back into the hug, hugging me tightly. "I'm okay."We're both okay. We made out alive. Now all there's left to do is find out the question we're both dying to know...
why?
