ZOE'S POV

"Zoe wait up!"

Oh shit. And my perfect day has been ruined.

The sun had been such a lovely surprise when I'd looked out my window this morning. Yes, I, Zoe Taylor Greene, appreciated the sun. For once in my life I was glad it wasn't overcast or raining. I was even willing to wear a skirt rather than shorts. I know, strange.

But right now, as I felt the wind get knocked out of me just from hearing that voice, I could've sworn the sun ran away and was quivering behind a cloud, too afraid for me to continue shining for everyone else, even though no one else seemed to notice its absence.

"What do you want Tyler?" I levelled my voice after taking a million deep breaths. I slowed my steps and swivelled around to face the monster in front of me, but boy was I shocked to see the look on his face.

He still looked at me the way he always had, as if he was searching for something in my face. Something that would tell him what I was thinking. He only started giving me that look after Jade left us, and I now knew why. Because it was all his fault. Everything bad that had happened to me had been because Jade and I fell apart, and it was all because of Tyler. One of the few people I thought I could trust. And the only one who broke that trust almost as soon as they'd gained it.

"I need to talk to you." His voice was guarded, the way my mother's got when she was trying to not sound as mad as she really was.

"You and I both know we have nothing to talk about." I knew I sounded angry but there was not a single fibre in my body that cared. Every ounce of my being wanted him to leave me alone, but here I was, responding. Willing him to continue.

"Don't give me that bullshit Zoe." He stepped closer. For some unknown reason I stayed still, I barely even blinked when he grabbed my hand. "You and I," he looked at me with a pain in his eyes that I'd never seen before, "we're meant to fix this." The pain that I saw, was forced.

"Tyler I don't want to fix whatever this was." I pulled my hand from his, smoothing down my skirt as I did so. He looked down at his hands with a scowl etched onto his face.

"You can't tell me you didn't feel it too." He balled his hands into fists before relaxing them by his sides again. "We have a connection Zoe." He said, clasping his hands together, "We're meant to be together." In that moment I swear he looked straight through my eyes and into my soul, fishing for the smallest sliver of a connection to him.

"I have no idea what you're talking about, I-"

"Have a boyfriend?" He smiled wickedly, "Oh darling, I heard about your little, scandal with Irwin." How could he know about that? "I don't think Calum will be crawling back anytime soon."

Oh my god he's right. Why would Calum want to talk to me at all?

"So sweetheart you're all mine." Tyler smirked with a glint in his eyes that I never want to see again.

I was backing away when I felt an arm lock around my waist, I flinched before I realised that Tyler's hands were still clasped in front of him. I looked to my right and saw a pair of deep brown eyes staring back at me.

"Morning love." Calum smiles, his eyes twinkling in the sunlight. Oh good the sun is back. "Oh hey Tyler, what's up man?" He greets the monster in front of me ever so politely. He's got to be kidding, does he not realise what this guy was doing just a moment ago?

"Hood." He nods, " I was just leaving actually." Tyler grimaces as he shoves his hands in his pockets and turns and walks away, without so much as a look back in my direction.
