The realm has always been divided between darkness and light. The world of light, Coelum, was full of peace, nature, and happiness. The world of darkness, Vacuus, was full of misfortune, sadness, death, and destruction. Many wars have been fought between both sides in the name of love, riches, deities, and more. Many creatures from each world lost their lives in the terrible bloodshed.
After the wars came to a stand-still, a pact was created, which connected the worlds through gates, regulating the amount of darkness and light between the worlds. The creatures that resided in each of the worlds were forbidden to live in the others world unless permitted by the councils of both worlds. If there was an excess of darkness in Coelum, that world would begin to merge with Vacuus, creating panic and releasing dark, rampant demons into the world of light.
However, there are those who can convert darkness to light, and vise versa. Those people are called the Birthers. Many with this gift use it for the council as a way to let the dark ones into Coelum. Others use it to smuggle dark ones into our world in order to enact chaos; those people are called Renovationists. With the Revisionists creating make-shift gates, more and more are being closed, sealing off Vacuss and Coelum from each other.
As the last gate within the city of Vadela is about to be sealed, one girl answers to a cry for help from the darkness.
