My Story

My name is Rin, and I figured I would need to make this diary for the recent events that have taken place.

First of all, it started on my birthday.

I went to school as usual, ate my lunch by myself, talked to nobody besides the teachers, because of how different I was from everyone. My mom died in an accident, where she protected me until she couldnt anymore, as I watched her die before me. My dad, as the coward he is, was powerless against the armed thugs. My father and I barely escaped with our lives as we both had just faced our own living nightmare.

"Happy birthday, Rin! How old are you now, 14? Oh, how my students grow so fast."

"U-uh, its actually 15, Now"

The only friend I really had, this teacher, was the only teacher who had really not given up hope for me.

" Oh, really now? Well, you do look a bit older than the norm. How was your tests this afternoon?"

I showed her my paper with a bit of guilt.

" Rin... Are you really okay with this?" She whispered to me as some other students snickered at me.

She returned my test paper which was marked a 12/100.

I wasn't really bright on the acedemic side of things, and that was prominently shown on my test papers. My father quit work out of the guilt he felt from not being the one to die instead of my mother. I wasn't able to live a normal school life because of that event. I've only recently been able to go to school with the money our relatives gave us.

I hate it.

Of course, I wasn't completely dumb, as I used to read books about the human mind.

More specifically, dreams. Nightmares.

Anyone could just wake up in a cold sweat after a nightmare, able to forget in just a few seconds. That wasn't the case for me. I have, basically, a photographic memory, never able to forget what I see and hear. I atill remember my mother's loving and smiling face as we were once a good family.

But things went way downhill from that point on.

I came home from school to see my drunk father sat down in the front door of our "apartment"

" Boy! Where have you been? I've meaning to talk to youuu-" The old man slurred.

" Shut up! Why do you have to be like this?!" I said as I ran away, to the little playground near to our house.

I mostly spend my time here, away from that bastard of a dad. As I sat down on one of the swings, I saw a little kid with his parents pass by.

Oh, I could kill for a life like that.

I started to feel a bit sleepy, but I was so scared of sleeping. It makes me re-live those past moments of watching my mom leave me for the last time.

I couldn't take it, my body won over as I fell asleep, my head leaning on the chain of the swing, as I muttered " Happy birthday, me."

What awaited me was a new fresh hell that topped anything I've ever experienced.
