« Hey! Wait! Caesar I'm here ! »
Georgina followed with her eyes the screaming blond girl who was running through the corridors to reach her boyfriend and his friends.
« Oh look, our adorable Little Miss Sunshine's here again », she turned around at her best friend's sarcastic statement.
Jennyfer never liked Brianna. And probably never will. She wasn't really, for a lack of better words, sociable. She never liked anyone and never really got along with anybody so doesn't have a lot of friends. In fact, she only had her.
Georgina remembers that when she met her in 6th grade, she didn't like her. But one day, their history teacher said that they had to prepare a presentation in pairs about the country of their choice and about an event which marked its history. And during the explanations a little redhead girl raised her hand.
« Can I do it alone? », she said.
« No Jennyfer, you can't. ».
Two minutes later, a noise coming from the right drew her attention. That's when she saw the redhead girl leaning over the seat next to her.
"Hey! Do you want to do it with me? I didn't want any partner but since we're obliged to have one, I rather do it with you. All the others are too stupid. "
"Is that suppose to be a compliment?"
"Well..", Jennyfer cautiously started, "I think you're cool."
"Oh."
Gina looked around in the class. She didn't get along with nobody else in that class. The problem was that she preferred to hang out (and work) with guys, but there were only four guys. A moody brunette, who cried eve-ry-day for all kind of "good" reasons (like when he lost his pencil or is coat or his blanket...) , a sleepy blonde guy who sleept all day long, and a pair of twins who already decided that they would work together. And the girls weren't really better. At all.
"So?", Jennyfer impatiently asked.
To be honest, Georgina would have liked to work in her own too, but since she couldn't, she sighed and accepted.
Then, the teacher let them talk a for while to let them decide which country they would talk about.
"Got any idea?" Jennyfer asked her. "Otherwise, I 'm Spanish so maybe with can talk a bit about the Franco dictatorship in Spain? My father has A LOT of books about it. "
Even if she hates history, Georgina loves Spain and knew that it would be easier to talk about a subject she already had the documentation about so she agreed. After that, they exchanged their addresses and planned to meet the same evening. Surprisingly, during all the project preparation they became friends and Jennyfer was the only person Georgina talked to.
"You're mean, she looks cute", Georgina finally answered.
"The fact that she is cute or not doesn't makes her less annoying."
"Why don't you like her ? She never did anything to you. "
"Oh yes she did! She is in almost ALL my classes since 2nd grade and is next to me in history, english and sciences ! You don't know her like I do Gina! She thinks that I'm her friend talks to me ALL THE FREAKING TIME. I'm sure I know more about her than the people living with her ! And guess what? I'm next to her in Chemistry now, which means that I also have that stupid project to do with her." , she said with exasperation.
"What project are you talking about ? "
"Do you have Chemistry today?"
"Yeah, last period."
