Part 53 (Julia)

When Giuseppe lunged at us, my gut instinct was to fight back. N had finally been supportive of violence for the first time ever, so I  had to use this to my advantage.

My knee lashed out and hit him in the head. He went stumbling. He was used to killing easy, I assumed, but not to his victims trying to fight back.

T watched in shock, but when he came near her, she kicked him into the wall, completely ignoring the fact that she was wearing a skirt. Giuseppe slammed back, his head cracking against the rock hard concrete.

"Are you done fighting?" I asked him, anger taking over my voice.

Giuseppe looked up, but he seemed a little bit less violent now. I couldn't really explain it, but... It was almost like... Genocide Jack's regular form coming out right after a killing. In other words for those who don't understand, an odd switch that happens at the most inconvenient time possible.

"What's going on...?" he asked in a whisper. He sounded exhausted, but I knew how criminals did it. They always did these things in hopes of worming out of police reach, but it never worked.

"You know what's going on," I snarled at him, seeing right through his 'playing innocent' act. He couldn't fool me.

"I really don't understand what's happening...!" Giuseppe murmured, his eyes going wide with shock. "Will somebody please explain why all of this is going on...?!"

"You killed a bunch of people for being involved in your wife's murder! Shouldn't you understand that?!" J exclaimed. "I thought you would know this stuff since you're a serial killer and stuff!"

Giuseppe stared at her in horrified shock, not understanding anything that was going on. I wanted him to stop playing dumb and just own up to all that he had done, but I had a feeling that it wasn't going to be happening anytime soon. Typical of criminals.

"Are you done staring at us like that?" T asked with a frown.

Giuseppe glanced around in confusion. I could tell that he was starting to cry, but I didn't understand why. Didn't he know that this was bound to happen sooner or later? It happened with every criminal known to existence, and it would continue to happen until the end of the law.

"Come on. We need to take you back to Interpol Headquarters," I told him, frowning deeply.

"I-Interpol...?" he whispered. For some reason, his voice was more accented now than it had been when he was arguing with his fellow Kuranin members mere moments before.

"Yeah. That's where the worst criminals go. I thought you knew this. Aren't serial killers supposed to be up to date on things like prisons? Especially when people involved with you are well known criminals that have been in jail for many years on end?" J asked him. "Man... I didn't know that serial killers were this stupid... Somebody tell me before I research this stuff for years on end next time..."

"Why are you calling me a serial killer...?! I've never killed anyone...!" Giuseppe exclaimed, his eyes going wide with shock. A few tears were starting to streak down his cheeks, but I paid them no mind.

"Come on. He's merely playing dumb so that we'll release him," I told J and T.

"But what if he isn't?" T asked.

"He's lying," I assured her before she could even think of a counterargument. She didn't say anything in response.

"Then... What now?" J questioned. "Do we take him back to Interpol so that he can be dealt with back there?" she asked.

I nodded. "What else?"

"Okay... Hands where we can see them," T said.

"I want to do it!" J exclaimed, her ponytail bouncing in her excitement.

T sighed and handed over the handcuffs to the excited J, who accepted them with open arms.

J cleared her throat professionally. "Put your hands where I can see them, please!" she demanded, copying what T said almost exactly, much to the latter's exasperation.

Giuseppe was rather confused at what was going on, but chose to follow J and T's instructions with slight hesitation. J took his wrists and handcuffed him, much to his confusion. He glanced around in panic, not understanding what was going on. Though, if you ask me, he was pretending to not understand. He's quite the liar, in my opinion.

"What's going on...?!" Giuseppe asked, turning to J with wide eyes. "Why are you doing this?!"

"I thought I already said this. You're under arrest for killing multiple people under the name of Kuranin," J explained to him.

"And for masterminding a criminal organization of killers dead set on murdering people related to a case from ten years ago," I piped in.

"Yeah. For that, too," J agreed, though I could tell that she was much more excited about the whole concept of him being a serial killer.

"I never killed anyone...!" Giuseppe tried desperately to say, though J and I were't having any of his rubbish excuses. T seemed to care a bit too much, which bothered me. It was clear that he had killed all of those people, so why did she seem so hesitant to arrest him...?

"Don't tell us that stuff. Save it for your attorney," J told him. It was like she was on a sugar high from excitement of arresting a serial killer. To this day, I still don't understand why she likes that stuff so much...

Giuseppe allowed J to drag him off, as he stopped resisting when  he realized that there was no getting away. He looked down sadly, a sense of regret crossing over his eyes. I chose to look away, not in the mood to deal with it for now.

"Are you okay?" T asked, turning to Ms. Giuseppe.

"I'm okay, I guess..." she murmured in response. "I don't know... I just thought that my father would be there to accept me with open arms when I escaped my kidnapping... Though I guess that isn't the case..."

"I'm sorry..." T whispered. "But I know that things will end up okay in the end!"

"I hope so..." Ms. Giuseppe whispered, shaking her head. "I can hope for it..."
