Innocence In Darkness

Prologue: Mackenzie Estacado is one of the bearers of a power called The Darkness. Cousin of Jackie Estacado and also has connections with the mafia.

But previously she was possessed by Medusa Gorgon, an evil spirit from ancient times that was cursed to having snakes for hair. But the spirit may be out of her body, but lingers in her mind still. What of Mackenzie now?

~Part One~
It's been a few months since that whole Medusa thing and I am still a bit out of it. But there have been times I can hear her voice in my head. Usually it's the Darkness. Zan has also been worried for me and always checked on me. But I feel like I am losing my mind. Whenever I was in a dark room, I can hear her laughter. It sounds so sinister you get scared of it. She even calls my name and I looked around to see who it was. No one. Me and Zan did try spending time together but I hear her voice still and it always interrupts.

Then I had to see a special psychologist for help about my situation. Because the other ones think I was crazy and that I needed to go to a psychiatric hospital. But this one wanted me to be seeing someone elsewhere. So they put me at an institution for a couple weeks. Zan still was allowed to visit me and we even had private time.

During my time there, I felt like I was at a crazy house. There's other patients that kept trying to grab me but I pushed them away and went back to my room.

I don't think they're really going to help me, but I can still hear Medusa's voice in my head.

As I was in my bed resting, I could hear whispers around me and then, I heard her speak.

Medusa:"It's a shame you're here. I thought I was helping you."

"Get out of my head."

She snickered at me and next thing I know, the mirror across from me, showed a reflection of me but I looked more different. She moved out of the mirror as an illusion and her hair was of snakes. Live snakes! But she looked just like me. Probably because I was possessed by her.

Medusa:"I love this look don't you? Now we look alike."

"Sorry, but there's only one Mackenzie Estacado. You just chose that because you want to be me."

Medusa gave a pout at me and went behind me and put her cold hand on my shoulder that sent a shiver down my spine. I can tell people were staring at me and I looked at her with anger in my eyes.

Medusa:"But your powers are extraordinary. Imagine what you can do with such power. You can rule over men and make them tremble before you. Think of it."

"No."

"Mrs. Skyfang? Who are you talking to?"

I turned around to see one of the guards looking at me and I shook it off and went back to my bed to read one of the books my husband sent over. Medusa however stood by my bed. She watched me closely and next thing I know she fades and I blinked afterward. I must be seeing things or she is just talking in my head again.

~Part Two~
Two weeks pass by and I was released from the asylum. My husband was happy to see me and asked about Medusa. During those two weeks she tried to make me seduce the guards but I resisted since I remembered I was married. There had to be a way to get rid of her. Then Zan tells me that Serana dropped the crown into the sea and we had to make a trip over there to get it. We retrieved the crown underwater and took it back to the states to look at it. The gem on it was green and it had snakes over it. Medusa's crown sure was worth something but why is her spirit still in my mind? We took it to Serana so she could help out.
