Rachel's P.O.V.
Sun streamed through the cracks in the curtains. I opened my eyes, blinking, looking up at the ceiling above me. I then looked down at the duvet. It was a silky brown colour. It suddenly dawned on me that I wasn’t in my own bed. I was in someone’s arms. I felt a kiss on my cheek.
“Morning, beautiful,” I heard a deep voice say, and I sat up, letting his arms fall away from me.
“Oh, bum!” I hissed, leaning over the side of my bed, scrambling for my clothes. I was wearing nothing but my t-shirt, bra and pants. My jeans were lying on the floor. I pulled them on, and then turned to face Harry.
“Harry, did we...?”
“No, no!” He shook his head. I noticed that he was just wearing boxer shorts. His bare chest was tanned. He was gorgeous. “We came home late, and you fell asleep on the sofa while I went to get a drink. I thought you’d be uncomfortable in your jeans, so I took them off and carried you to bed. That’s all that happened!” I stopped panicking. “Okay, I believe you.” I smirked. “What time is it?”
“Nine.” He replied.
“Okay,” I said. “So, what are you up to today?”
Harry stood up and started making his bed. I went over to help him.
“I’m not sure,” He said. “I do have one idea, though.”
“What’s that?” I put my hands on my hips and grinned at him.
“Well... I’m not sure yet. I need to make some calls.”
I wondered what on earth it could be, and if it involved me.
“Wow, last night was amazing...” Harry smiled, changing the subject.
I cast my mind back over last night’s events. It had been magical. We’d watched a film, and on the way home, we took a detour through the park. We lay on the grass, looking up at the sky, just lying there for ages. By the time we left, the sun had set; It was late, really late. We walked back to Harry and Louis’ place, hand in hand. At the door, we’d kissed romantically. I was so tired, and when Harry went to the kitchen to get us both a drink, I lay down on the sofa. Next thing I knew, I was waking up in Harry’s bed this morning.
“How about I pop down to the shop and get some nice warm doughnuts for breakfast?” Harry suggested, pulling me away from my thoughts.
“That sounds amazing, Harry.” I smiled, and Harry blew me a kiss and went to get dressed. “I’ll be two minutes.” He said after coming back in from the bathroom. And he was gone.
I sat on his bed, wondering what to do. And then, I decided to check Twitter. I pulled out my phone and, fingers shaking, typed in my username and password. I was nervous about what I would find.
I checked my followers – I’d gained 300 since I last checked, which was the day before I’d met the boys. I grinned as I noticed that Harry, Louis, Liam, Niall and Zayn were all following me. I guessed that was the reason I had gained so many followers – there’s people out there who follow everyone that the boys follow – crazy, I know. I checked my mentions, and took a deep breath... nothing new, thank God.
However, when I went back onto my homepage, my heart began to thud when I saw the trending topics.
“Harry’s New Girlfriend” was right at the top. Nervous thoughts zooming round my mind, I clicked on it.
Big mistake. “No one has identified Harry’s new girlfriend, but when we know who that b*tch is, we’re gonna kill her, right everyone?”
“Harry’s new girlfriend may as well just leave the face of the earth right now, because he is MINE.”
“So in this magazine was a picture of Harry’s new girlfriend. No names or anything... but us Directioners will soon find her and kill her...”
And those were the nice ones. I’m not even going to repeat some of the vulgar stuff being said.
Instantly, I burst into tears, chucking my phone across the room. Why was everyone hating on me? They didn’t even know who I was! Even though they didn’t know it was me kissing Harry, the thought that they despised me so much even though they’d never met me, was enough to make me want to hide away forever.
I lay down on the bed, sobbing. Suddenly, the door opened, and in came Harry.
“Babe, what’s wrong?!” Harry cried, dropping the bag of doughnuts on the side, then running over to me and wrapping his arms around me.
“Look at twitter...” I wailed. “People are hating on me...” Harry pulled out his phone and typed in his password. He scanned the page for a few seconds, typed something in, and then put his phone back in his pocket.
“I don’t think they’ll write anything horrible again.” He told me. I gave him a quizzical look, before crossing the room, grabbing my phone from the floor, and signing back into twitter. I went straight onto Harry’s profile.
“@Harry_Styles: So what if I’m going out with someone. So what if I kissed a girl. Does that mean she’s horrible? No. Does it mean she’s anything you’ve been calling her? No. Why can’t anyone let me live my life without hating everyone I get involved with? It’s low. Rachel – and yes, I’m not afraid to admit it – is crying now, although she’s a lovely, beautiful person. I hope you’re happy.xx”
I looked up at Harry, tears in my eyes, and pressed my lips against his. I knew that the sun would always stay shining, as long as I had Harry by my side.
