SonAmy Boom: 5 Days

Chapter - 2

•Amy POV•

Amy rubbed her head with her hand and sat up. "Where am I? I feel like... I just got kidnapped and harassed by a big fat old guy." She moaned and looked around at her surroundings.

"I'm home?" She asked herself quizzically. "How did I-" she interrupted herself with a loud gasp. "Sonic! Eggman kidnapped me, and Sonic came, but where's Sonic now?!" Amy stood up from her couch and grabbed her hammer, that was leaning against her door. "I have to go find him!" She declared and swung her door open.

As she turned to walk out, she saw Sonic trudging up her steps. His legs were wobbly, and he looked weak. However, Amy was too overwhelmed by happiness to notice straight away. "Sonic! You're okay!"

Sonic lifted his head and looked up to see Amy charging him. He let his legs go weak, so Amy caught him. "Sonic? Sonic? Are you okay?" Amy asked him. "I-I'm just dandy, Ames." He smiled warmly at her. "Come on, let's get you inside." Amy said and helped him inside her house.

She noticed immediately how heavily he was breathing, and every so often he would wheeze. She placed him on the couch and laid him down on his back. "Do you need something?" Amy asked him while petting his forehead. Sonic shook his head and coughed. He took in a deep breath and seemed to calm down.

"I'm going to go get you some water, okay?" Sonic simply nodded, too tired to keep his eyes open.

Amy went to her kitchen and made Sonic a glass of water. "I should also call the others." She decided and picked up the phone. "Tails? Grab the BOOM crew and come to my house. We have an emergency." Once done with her call, she went back to the living room.

"Sonic? What happened to you?" She asked him. Sonic opened one of his eyes halfway and looked at her. "I saved you." He grinned up her. Amy stared at him, her expression full of sadness. "How did you save me? You're hurt, badly!" Amy said worriedly. "I would've been fine. I can take care of myself-"

"You wouldn't have been okay, Amy. He would've killed you. I did what I had to. Please, try to understand." Sonic held her hand over his chest.

"What did you do, Sonic?" Amy had tears in her eyes, she had never seen Sonic act this way before. Sonic squeezed her hand and closed both his eyes. "Please, try to understand why I did what I did. I had to, Amy-"

"What did you do?" Amy shouted at him. Sonic flinched and now held her hand in both of his hands. "In order to rescue you, I had to give myself up to Eggman. He chained me to a chair, then I blacked out. When I woke up... Eggman said I had five days to live."

Amy was silent, all she could do was stare at him. "Ames-"

"Don't you dare 'Ames' me! How stupid can you be?!" She cried out. "What have you done?! Do you know how much this village needs you?! Did you even think about them-"

"No, I didn't! They were the last things on my mind! All I could think about was this world without you. Do you know how much it would hurt to loose you?" Sonic forced himself to sit up. "Because I choose my life over yours?"

"You'd be able to get over it! I'm not as important as you are!"

"What do you want me to do?! Apologize for saving you?! Well, I'm sorry, I can't! I guess you just have to get used to this."

Amy shoved Sonic's hands back at him and stood up. "Wait, where are you going? Amy?" Sonic struggled to peer over the couch. Amy was silent as she ran out the door, sobbing.

•Sonic POV•

"Amy! Amy, come back!" Sonic shouted, and rolled off of the couch. He landed on his side and grunted in pain. "Amy!" He screamed and tried to pull himself up. "What if she's going to Eggman? What is she going to do?" He thought and covered his eyes with his hands.

He heard the door creak back open and Sonic looked at the entrance. Tails, Knuckles, and Sticks stood there. Amy stood behind Sticks, tears still running down her face.

Tails was the first approach Sonic. "Tails... I-I'm sorry... please don't be mad. I had to, Tails, I had to!" Sonic cried and wrapped his arms around Tails as he cried. Tails hugged him back and they both cried together.

"I never thought you'd die like this... You always said we'd die old and in a nursing home making the nurses go crazy." Tails laughed and wiped a few of his tears away.

A few minutes later, Sonic had explained what had happened in great detail. Everyone was devastated. It was all they could do to not burst out in tears and sadness.

"Wait, h-how do we even know this is real? Eggman is a dirty trickster!" Sticks yelled out. "Yea! This could all be some trick!" Knuckles agreed.

Sonic sniffed and nodded. "I did blackout... I suppose we won't know what happened until it's the end of the week." He said in a melancholy voice.

"What are supposed to do until then?" Amy finally spoke up. "Just wait for you to die?" Her eyes filled up with more and more tears. "I can't... I can't do that, Sonic."

"Until then, we'll act like nothing happened. I'm perfectly fine, and we'll just have to make every day count." Sonic told her sternly. "Today... Was a bad day, but the next 4 days will be spent better."

The room was deadly silent. "What about your bucket list? That's something to do, right?" Knuckles offered, trying to be helpful. Sonic thought about this and smiled. "Sounds like we have a lot of stuff to do in 5 days." He said to his friends.
