'Hey...can I talk to you for a minute Brooke?'
'Um... Okay.'
'So I'll be moving soon... But I want to make a promise with you.
'Oh... What's the promise? '
'I promise that I'll be back for you and that we'll get married in the future. Promise? '
'Yeah. I promise... '

A dream... It was all a dream. But I do remember making a promise just like that 4 years ago with a really close friend.
I turned on my phone to check the time.
"8:01?!?" I practically screamed.
Crap. I thought I set an alarm! Im gonna be late for the first day of Sophomore year!
My mom usually goes to work at 5 or 6 so she couldn't wake me up... My dad left us when I was really young... And plus, I'm the only child.
I got up and walked to my closet to stare blankly at it.
After a minute of staring I just picked out a black crop top, some ripped shorts, a red flannel to go around my waist and some converse. After I did all the usual morning things, I went downstairs and got a piece of toast, put nutella on it then grabbed my skateboard and went off to school.
I got tired of skating so I decided to go to the bus stop.
I noticed I wasn't the only late person... I saw a guy about a year older than me. He looked kinda familiar...
He turned over to me and I noticed his eyes widened a bit. Did he know who I was?
"Hey." I said with a friendly smile.
"Oh, hey." He smiled back.
It was pretty silent for a while but the bus came by and all awkwardness was gone... Or was it.?
The only seats left we're in the back and, just my luck, we had to sit together... But he seems pretty nice.
We walked to the back where all the jocks and preps hang out.
Our bus is basically sectioned by stereotypes... Quiet people in the front, the idiots in the middle, and the cool kids in the back.
I should belong in the front with the new kid I'm guessing. Well...can't complain.
~~time skip~~
We arrived at school and I had to shove everything in my locker and rush to First Period.
We all settled down and plugged in the ear buds in my phone to listen to Panic! At The Disco.
I wonder how that new kids doing.
I hope he has someone to give him a tour around the school.
Ms. Hemmings came in and talked about a new kid. Is it the one I saw at the bus stop?
She asked him to come in and itroduce himself.
"Hi, Im Danny. I'm 16 years old and I came here from Houston, Texas. Don't be shy to come up and talk to me." He said with a crooked smile.
I might be mistaken but I'm pretty sure he was looking at me when he said the last part.
"Okay Danny, go ahead and take a seat." Ms. Hemmings said
That got all my attention since the only empty seat was next to me. And we have to sit in these seats for the whole year.
It can't be THAT bad can it?
I stared at the clock all class and humming to Sarah Smiles, my favorite song.
But I can feel someones eyes on me... I turned over to see this Danny kid looking right at me.
You know that awkward moment when you turn around to make direct eye contact with someone staring at you? Yeah.. That's what's happening right now.
He turned away but his cheeks were flushed with a light pink.
Not gonna lie, it kinda made me blush a bit too. He seems pretty familiar though. His eyes, his smile, the way he walks... Seems like I've seen him somewhere but I'm not sure where.
The bell rang. We all got up, got our books, then left. But suddenly, Ms. Hemmings pulled me aside.
"You know this school good, right?" She asked.
"Well... I've only been here for a year, but yeah." I had a confused expression.
"Could you give Danny a school tour? You get a pass for your next class and still get full credit?" She bribed.
"Okay. Deal." I left and looked for Danny.
"BROOKE! HEY BROOKE! OVER HERE!" A familiar voiced called out.
I turned around to see my best friend Skylar"OH MY LORD! SKYLAR?! YOU LOOK BEAUTIFUL!" I praised her.
"Awe, thank yoouu." she put her hand on her heart.
"How are you?" I asked .
"I'm great! What are you up to?"
Crap... I forgot about the tour.
"Oh, crap... I'm supposed to give the new guy a tour." I put my hand on the back of my head.
"Oh... I'll come with." She said putting her arm in the crook of mine like how we used to as kids.
