After dinner it was around ten o’ clock and most of the pack had gone to sleep. All of the teens except for me and B.J had left and we were sitting in human form, still damp after bathing in the nearby river. B.J broke the silence, “Are you tired?”
“No, not really.” I replied, just as an idea popped into my head. “C’mon, follow me.” I told him and he stood and did as I asked. We walked though the camp, avoiding the folded forms of wolves that had fallen asleep next to fires and other forms of people who had fallen asleep in sleeping bags. We passed by B.J’s parents, his mother in wolf form wrapped around his father and two younger siblings who were in human form. I looked over at B.J who was smiling down at his family and smiled with him before tugging lightly on his arm and continuing through the maze of fires, wolves and people. “Where are we going?” B.J whispered in my ear.
“Somewhere.” I told him. We kept on walking until we had left the camp behind and had come to a slight incline, leading up to a steeper incline until we were up the top of a large hill complete with large rock and boulders. I jumped up onto one of the smaller rocks and sat down, facing B.J. I looked towards our camp that had been left far behind and looked like a tiny haze of flickering stars through the layer of smoke that covered it.
B.J’s POV
I stared at Brook as she looked in the direction of the camp. She was the most beautiful thing in the world. Her deep blue eyes glistened with specks or orange light. I looked over towards the camp, following her stare. The camp was beautiful from this far. Brook spoke as I stared with amazement at the camp, how could something like our camp look this pretty? “Beautiful isn’t it?” She said, “This is where I come sometimes, y’know, when you always ask where I was. It’s a nice place.”
“It’s beautiful.” I said.
“It’s almost the most beautiful sight in the world.” She agreed.
“Yeah, it’s the second best.” I commented.
“What’s the best view in the world?” She asked me curiously.
I looked back at her then and stared at her as the wind picked up and blew her long blonde hair into a tangle of knots and beauty. Her pale blonde hair was almost silver in the moonlight. She was looking down at me expectantly when the answer to her question dawned on her. Her cheeks flushed. “You’re talking about me aren’t you? Funny how I seem to disagree.” She said.
“What is the most beautiful sight in the world then?” I asked, not sure of why she would disagree. She was the most beautiful thing in the world.
“You’re the actual best sight in the world.” She said. Now it was my turn to blush. I looked up to where she was sitting on the rock, it didn’t make her much taller than me. I extended my arm and my hand brushed her cheek, following her cheekbone to her chin then tilted it downwards and leaned towards her. Out lips brushed then she leaned forwards and made the contact more intense. I lost my hands in her hair, she slid off the rock and I lifted her up so that she was just above me. She wrapped her arms around my neck to hold herself up and then she growled. It was a soft, seductive growl. She broke away and her feet touched the ground then she was standing in front of me. Her eyes turned from their natural deep blue to a light blue, the colour of her wolf eyes. She was Changing. The sound of her bones cracking and re-shaping themselves echoed slightly in the breezy night air. One second she was standing in front of me, our eyes far from level, the next she was running from me, not fast but quick enough for me to realize that she was going to get faster until I lost her. She stopped about ten metres ahead of me then looked back; her white-silver fur glistened in the moonlight. She tilted her head towards the unknown behind her, silently egging me on, come on! She was saying, Change, follow me! I did as she asked and felt the sharp pain I’d grown to ignore as my body reformed itself and I Changed.
Brook’s POV
I watched as B.J Changed, his unseeable eyes glowed their wolf-like glow then his body deformed itself, quickly shaping into a wolf. As he started to run towards me I turned and ran away. He chased me for about ten minutes, through big rocks and boulders until we went into the forest on the opposite side of the hill from the camp. We weaved in and out of the trees, adrenaline coursing through our veins. I slowed down enough for him to catch up and pounce playfully onto me and we began to wrestle. We toppled over one another through the forest, grass and dirt, having forgotten everything but ourselves. We didn’t even know where we were going but then it was clear as a loud sound pierced the growls and yelps that were coming from us and a searing pain went through my body.
Okay so from here on out there will ONLY be another chapter update if I know somebody's reading it! I will only know if someone comments/votes on it. I'm not trying to sound desperate, I don't care if you comment or vote but if you don't there won't be another chapter. The same goes with my other story Through Death We Won't Part. Thanks =)
