Prolouge:

I peered curiously through the undergrowth at the pale two-legged creatures. I'd had never seen the likes of them before, but my pack leader had told me stories of them. These eagre-to-kill creatures were called men. What most puzzled me was their lack of fur or scales, or even feathers.

For some reason they frightened me. I shifted nervously in my crouch and accidentally stepped on a dry leaf. The men froze, and they each pulled ot a long and shiny, sharp piece of metal. Sniffing the air, I smelt the faint scent of blood wafting from their weapons. I smelt an even larger smell of blood coming from the cart they were pulling behind them.

In the cart there was a great amount of my forest residents in there..

Unconsciously I let out a low growl. The men tensed up and I froze. I was too afraid to even breathe.

One of the group of men slowly approached my hiding place in the undergrowth under a huge leaf. I tried as best as I could to sink even further without making any noise. The man swung swiftly and viciously, cutting up the undergrowth above me to pieces.  With no place to turn to I bared my 'fangs' like my pack leader had taught me. They all stared  at me as if they were under a trance of some sort. Taking my chance I swiftly launched myself at the man with my 'claws' at ready. The man had no chance what so ever of responding quickly enough to my attack. I landed on him and began biting and clawing at his skin. He kicked me off and pointed his weapon at me. Warily i backed up a few feet. I remembered the faint smell off blood coming off of their weapons, and I wans't to eager to have mine on it.

Suddenly I felt something cool and heavy clamp across my legs. While I was busy  focusing on the man in front of me, I had let two others sneak up behind me and put some type of restraint on me. The man i had attacked quickly came toward me and grabbed my arms.

I was scared, and I had no chance of escaping. I bucked under the heavy weight of the chains and kicked at them. The other men cautiously approached me with their weapons drawn. With no options left I reared my head back and howled.

At that moment the whole forest went eerily quiet.  The men froze and stared at me. The silence was broken a few moments later when a chorus of howls answer my lone call of help. The men started to get nervous. It was like the life switch in the forest had been turned on. All of the animals in the forest began to screech, scream, and make their presence know. I could smell the fear seeping off of the men. Just then the sound of howling broke through the noise again but this time closer. My family! There coming for me! I howled again to tell them of my position but it was cut off when a member of the group clamped his hand over my throat ceasing my calls for help. The howls sounded off again but this time they were farther off. They couldn't find me. That painstaking reality stepped on my hope as if were nothing more than a piece of dirt.

After a while all of the ruckus stopped, my family howled for me no more, and the men creatures no longer grew feared and nervous.

A man whom I had not noticed before stepped up and made some noises to the others. This man must have been their leader because everybody jumped back to work and a few men grabbed me and threw me in the back of a cart, hitting my head on the bars hard. They last thing I saw before I blacked out were a pair of eyes watching me from the darkness.
