~Prologue~
May 12, 2008
It's a cold and rainy spring afternoon in River Heights, Oregon. When most are at home in bed, or hibernating inside away from the rain a small 8 year old girl by the name of Eileen is stumbling around backlots and alleyways catching all the rain drops she can as if they're made of gold. "That's her." A gruff voice whispers to a sharp looking man in a pinstripe suit and freshly shaven face. The voice belongs to a hunched over figure hidden by a cloak. They are watching the girl intently from yards away. "Very well. Good job, Serindus. The Mistress will reward you graciously. Lets only hope you are correct. We wouldn't want our dear mistress to be disappointed, now would we?" The man says dryly. "Oh no-no sir!" The figure stutters. "Take her." The man orders. "But-but shouldn't we wait? She doesn't know anything yet. I mean we don't know for sure if she is the one."
"Your nose fails you Serindus. She is the one. Now snatch her if you want your reward. She cannot be let loose in this world if ours is on the verge of collapse. One day Gaia will live again and the gods will be nothing compared to our new world, Serindus. Imagine all the possibilities! All that destroyed by a small girl that is only ignorant to her own destiny." Mr. Sharp says expressively. "As you wish, sir." Serindus replies. Mr. Sharp turns away and in a blur of golden dust, disappears.

As Serindus walks forward he suddenly realizes how deathly quiet it's become. It seems even the trees are holding in their breath. All that can be heard is the crunch of his own steps over gravel and dead leaves littering the ground. Even the young girl's giggles have stopped. This makes him paranoid. Where has she gone. He peeks around the building into the alley that she was playing in only moments before and is greeted by emptiness. Little did he know that little Eileen is brighter than they think. A battle cry sounds above him and before he can look up the girl is atop his shoulders banging him with a fallen gutter she must've scrounged up from the side of the building. Immediately his vision blurs and he can see the floor rushing up to hug his face but as soon as he enters the embrace all goes black. The girl stands up and gasps in astonishment at what she's done. She runs inside hoping to find solitude.
